  1. Thanks for the answer. I find it a bit overpowered in case of demotion. Well I might as well try to find some trades myself.
  2. Hi, I can't recall if there is a mechanism that changes a player's salary when trading with a team from another league. Something like the promotion contract, meaning keeping the same salary cap impact . Is it the case ?
  3. In Silver, Montmorency Waterfalls has quite an advantage (13M) although it doesn't translate to them dominating. There's also my team, Valleyview Pharaos, with basically Argus Nygaard over the cap (1.7). The other player I contracted was a rookie. The relegated teams in Bronze seem to be more discreet. The Textline Timberwolves are within the cap. The North Shore Jaws are 2,5 over a cap of 5M, yet are not dominating either. In Iron, the Pelee Island Pirates are 800.000 over the 1.5 cap. The White Mountain Patriots are only 150.000 and it shows with a rough start in the season. In Lower Iron, the Hamilton Lion Hearts are dominating with 150.000 over the 900.000 cap. The Buzz Rats are within the cap.
  4. Now this is gonna be a weird season, with teams that were relegated having a roster by far superior to their competitors. I hope the promoted teams will be able to upgrade their roster with the poor transfer market in order to fight for survival.
  5. Alright ! Now it seems that last season's contracts are maintained, at least from the roster page. As I was starting to make my recruitments, I'll be over the salary-cap for this season
  6. Hi, Creating a topic similar to the Lumber one. First : the prospects have not been released from their junior teams. Oh, more generally, any player that should have been released from any team wasn't. For example, the players whose contracts ended this season in my team don't figure in my roster page but still are considered as being contracted by my team and don't figure in the transfer market. As an example : http://www.gameplanhockey.com/player?gpid=25248 Is that just a consequence of : "Game World Howitzer is now activated again. But I'm afraid that the simulator crashed half way through the contract updates. This means that some of your players may not have updated their contracts this season." ? I might edit if I find more.
  7. Oh I didn't see you posted out here. Let me take a concrete example in Howitzer. Let's take a look at the final standings in LIHL : 3. Medecine Hat 4. Harrisonville 5. Lake St. Louis 6. Sandy Hook 7. Quibell 8. Finnegan 9. Bushong 10. Miffinville First step the teams from the lower division play in a best of 3 games (all 3 games will be played since they'll be scheduled even if there's a 2-0). It will look something like that : A. Medecine Hat vs Miffinville B. Harrisonville vs Bushong C. Lake St. Louis vs Finnegan D. Sandy Hook vs Quibell Winners of that match move on to the second stage, losers stay in LIHL. Then let's take a look at IHL : 11. Walkerton 12. Oshawa 13. Deadwood 14. Hamilton Second step, winners of the lower division playoff match play against these IHL teams in another bo3. It will look something like that : Walkerton vs winner of D Oshawa vs winner of C Deadwood vs winner of B Hamilton vs winner of A Winners of that match will play in IHL, losers in LIHL. [Edit] So to be more complete, in pretty much every division except GHL and LIHL, the two best teams are promoted and the two worst teams are relegated. You can see in the standings that there is a group of teams just after the two best teams, up for promotion playoffs (in IHL : 3,4,5,6), and there's a group for relegation playoffs (I mentionned them above). In the middle, they secured their spot in the league, but no chance for promotion. In your case, you'll most likely play the Buzz Rats in the first stage of promotion playoffs, and if you win, La Marque Cougars from BHL in the second stage. Don't hesitate if you have more questions on the topic.
  8. Hi, I would like to suggest an upgrade on the AI trading system. Lately a computer team has been spamming (because I tend to give him new offers) trading offers I can't accept because he's going over his salary cap. My player's contract is bad in the first place, the player is clearly overpaid. The AI refuses any offer for a better player (makes sense), any offer 2(of his)v1(mine) (benchwarmers though), and can't find any combination of players he would accept (AI requires to need the player in order to accept, I think, so it's hard to add players into the mix). At least, computer teams could take salary cap into account. Even though, at least I could deduce that he was interested in the player and study possibilities.
  9. There could be a north americans versus foreign players.
  10. Oh I forgot about a question I've wondering about for a while ! So do you think there is no performance penalty for a forward not playing in his prefered position ? For instance, I've had centers in the wings do fine enough, although not as spectacular as a labelled forward (but that could be explained by other factors). And as a follow up question. I have a center with very low faceoff. I've noticed other centers like that here and there (you could say the same thing with defensemen with low defense stat). In some manager games, stats are balanced out in the overall rate regarding their importance for the position. Could a center with low faceoff stat be better than his overall if he played as a winger ?
  11. It does look like I triggered you though. It does make sense that a power forward would be an offensive player who'd make use of his physical abilities rather than finesse. You'd find this kind of profile in every team sport I know. Thanks for the explanation. As for the list of players, that's nice. I'll try to find some games to watch.
  12. Oh it's here ! Thanks Rainsilent ! I read that before, and moved on, but since I'm asking questions, I might as well go ahead. It might be a linguistic issue, but the "it factor" doesn't mean anything to me. Is "it" an acronym ? On the forum, I found quite a few posts alluding to the side of the wingers, but nothing precise. As you might know by now, I really don't know much about hockey in RL since it's really a small sport here in France. So I actively browsed around to know a bit more on the issue, and basically what I understood from it was that the off-wing was harder to pull off but rewarding. I figured that in RL there was a bit of both, so I didn't care much in the game. Since you put it that the game rewards the off-wing, I'm gonna investigate that on my team. Also, is the side a matter for defensemen ? Again, ignorant concerning RL hockey questions. From reading Nicolas Senet, I got that powerforwards have a more defensive approach, concentrating on hits. But if shooting and passing matter, then he's more of an all-rounder, isn't he ? I have an interest in this role, since it seems to fit well in most lines.
  13. Hi ! Browsing around, I've just started playing the game yesterday. After an attempt in a slow server, I'm joining you guys. I'll be in IHL, with the Valleyview Pharaohs.
