Different browsers, computers, phones. Same results here, too.
I missed out on what may end up being a stud defenseman with my high pick. It's very frustrating.

So is this just going to go unnoticed and unfixed by the admin team?

I think a big issue was captaincy! Guys just weren't stepping up but now they seem to be getting it together--I'm excited now that we're winning, it's pretty encouraging to have a HUGE jump in powerplay performance and everything over all.

I'm having a rough time so far as Portland Steam in the SHL, but I just stacked my team up to the cap and I think I might be ready to bounce back and compete

Medicine Hat Tigers, SHL, looking for a backup defenseman. Don't care OVR, willing to trade similar level G or F on the affiliate team of mine.

I'd love to see both a contract limit and the ability to loan or recall players. Waivers give me a lot of anxiety, even if they are realistic.

I want to see the Valks stick with it! You can make the GHL. I have faith. I was really rooting for you last season. We both came up through the SHL at about the same time, I just managed to auto promote, so I've always considered you like a sister team haha.

    Best of luck!

You might be able to! I think I was last seed last season and ended up facing the GHL relegation-threatened team. I was swept handily and absolutely destroyed (I think one loss was 9-2... ouch) BUT I was surprised to make it that far.

If you do claw your way into facing the GHL teams, this might be a good season to have a solid chance at promotion. cheering for you, mate (just don't tell the Valkyries that).

I weirdly like the idea of not being able to filter by (foreign) league they play in and manually having to 'scout' yourself. I think it's much more rewarding that way because it gives you a chance to find a gem buried on some random team in the Swedish Hockey League or something. A lot of my top guys are ones I've found in the RUHL or different leagues on some of the less known teams and I love it because it makes the world feel 'bigger' rather than having a sheet of all available players in the world that you can just click through and filter one league at a time.

However, I very much agree that you should have the option to filter out players that are absolutely not interested or ones that are already signed to one-way contracts with a higher level team. Especially when browsing the trading block, this becomes a PITA.

As for marking what league a player currently is in, this is something else I've wanted for a while. I'd love to see, for example, a player have (SHL) next to the Portland Steam underneath their name in the drop down window. It's hard to keep track of what team is in what league, especially when names are being changed whenever a team comes under new ownership.

I actually just noticed this and how it says it was fixed in the patch--and I don't believe it was. I just tried to sign a prospect outside of Silly Season (we're now midway through in Mitts) and wasn't allowed. The prospect I attempted to sign isn't 20YO though, but he is with a foreign club.

I assume this is going to be included in the next patch. Not sure the timeline on that one because it may be a somewhat major patch.

neuralhandshake got a reaction from Mark Z in Message management
I'd like to see the ability to mass delete messages, as I just found out last night that messages don't disappear after the 10 page limit is hit--they're still there, and deleting messages returns older ones to the inbox.

Similarly, it would be nice to have a 'Saved' folder. This particularly would be useful when given the Midterm Rankings and assistant recommendation for players, as well as what trade offers that teams have declined so I don't keep offering the same two players to a team over and over again.

I imagine it would help reduce strain on the database to do this, since I can't imagine having 500+ messages hanging out in my folder is helpful (fortunately I deleted a bunch once I realized that they aren't gone forever once my inbox fills up).

Additionally, and I don't know how to fix this necessarily, but having something that can help cut back on the crazy amounts of (x) team has offered (x) player a contract at the start of the season would be great, since messages get lost among that. Once your shortlist accumulates a decent amount of players, these notifications can fill up 5+ pages just when the calendar turns to the next season.

I know there's some messages bug fixes coming up in the next update, but these were a few things I was thinking last night!

In "Other Games" (Eastside Hockey Manager, the closest to this IMHO), I believe you can view ten games back, with a 'five game split' summary on the team summary page (which would be a nice feature, underneath 'current season stats' on the player pop-up summary having 76-80-80-82-61 for example).

And while it's true players don't USUALLY go on cold streaks that long IRL... I definitely have had them go on cold streaks for that long in game and have seen it happen if a team is at the bottom of the league and lined up against several top guys in a row.

Personally, I'd rather see a separate section for pre-season ratings, too, so I have a better idea of how each player is doing but those stats don't show up unless you go into the individual games.

It'd be nice to also archive games from the past season or be able to view them. I know there's a lot of database strain issues, but I still stand by saying that if we eliminated most of the players over 40 or nix retired stats for guys who haven't played in several seasons we wouldn't be any worse for wear. Eastside Hockey Manager does this, with stats only being maintained for players who remain in the database as coaches.

I just played a team that changed names between when the game was played and when the box score was posted, resulting in the first star being from the old team and second and third the new team.

    So that's a fun one.

I know one of the attractive parts of the game is being able to move a team you're freshly taking over... but it's kind of getting a bit much when the face of the league is constantly changing because sometimes they switch owners many times over the course of one season.

Is there any way we could maybe 'lock' a team's city location for a season? For example, if an owner takes over midseason, would it be possible to make them required to either keep the team's name or city 'locked' until the start of the next season, where they'd be prompted to allow a one-time name/location change?

I keep feeling like I'm losing track of which teams are which, with mascots, names, and cities changing constantly.

At the same time, I do like the idea of being able to personalize teams, but... the face of BHL leagues is changing so much.
