Wick Schozen got a reaction from Steve in North American World?
As I've stated before I love the idea of a NA style world. If you think about it, a lot of the issues people have with this game are because they are North American style league fundamentals that are being forced to be implemented into a euro style format. In Euro leagues there aren't really trades and there is no draft at all. Which is why there is some friction in our current format. I believe an NA style world is going to be an absolute revelation for this game because there won't be any of those cross over clashes from NA fundamentals in a Euro format.

Something what looks suspicious to you looks clear for other. At least with current GHL salary cap there is very much space to hoard good SHL players and trade those to SHL for picks and lower league contracts (free release) and hope that SHL picks converts to GHL picks. Also freshly promoted teams needs to make a lot of job to get good enought team to hold their position on GHL.

So, please communicate to each other before reporting.

Wick Schozen got a reaction from MattBerserkers in GHL Manager Poll - Season 22
Submissions for the inaugural Howitzer - GHL Managers Poll have ended. This event will take place annually with the GHL managers receiving their ballots after game 30 and have 15 game days to get their submissions in. We received full ballots from 7 teams and a partial ballot from one team. I am keeping the answers confidential but if everyone collectively wanted transparency I can release the ballots of the managers. I like the anonymity with something like this though. With that being said here are the results.

    Individual Accolades

Best Forward GHL - Alexandr Gavrikov, Unity Fire Dogs
Receiving five of the seven votes Gavrikov was the consensus top forward in the GHL. Currently sitting with a healthy 9 point lead in the scoring race, Gavrikov has been a top 5 scorer in the league for the last four seasons straight and looks poised to capture his second scoring title in that span.

Best Defensemen GHL - Dalibor Kosegi, Newcastle Fighters
Kosegi grabbed four of the seven votes for top defensemen and with three other individual defensemen receiving votes. Kosegi has been flirting with the league lead in goals and battling it out with former defensive partner Joshua Metts (recipient of one vote) for highest scoring defensemen. The 24 year old Kosegi has eclipsed 50 points in his last two seasons and has a chance to crack 60 points this season.

Best Goaltender GHL - Thor Landstrom, Stony Brook Steel & Gino Vincent, Unity Fire Dogs
Claiming two votes each in the most spread out category, Landstrom and Vincent share will share the title of best goaltender(s) this season. Landstrom has guided his team to two GHL championships in the last three seasons while the younger Vincent looks to take Unity back to the top after being acquired two seasons ago. Landstrom and Vincent are the only goaltenders in the league to hold higher than a .930 Sv% with more than 20 games played.

Number One Player Voted To Build A Team Around - Dalibor Kosegi, Newcastle Fighters & Michal Kadura, Palm Harbor Legends*
Another split decision with each player receiving two votes each, the managers who took part in the poll leaned towards two young defensemen as the best foundational piece for their franchise. Kosegi who took out best defensemen is met by 21 year old Michal Kadura formally of the Nottingham Purple Storm. Kadura while yet to break out offensively looks to take steps forward in that department on a more prominent team in the GHL. Gavrikov and Landstrom also had their name thrown in the mix.

What Is The Most Important Position - Goaltender
Goaltending narrowly edges out centerman with four votes to three. With the top two teams in the league staking claim to the top two goaltenders it’s not hard to find why managers hold goaltenders in such high regard.

Which Team Will Win The Most Championships Over The Next 10 Seasons? - Stony Brook Steel
With five of the votes it looks like something special is being assembled in Stony Brook. Already with two championships in the last three seasons, Stony Brooks balance of elite players and youth have them slated to reach dynasty status in the 'Season 20s’.

Which Team Will Need To Rebuild In The Next Five Seasons? - Palm Harbor Legends
While only garnering three of the votes that was enough to have Palm Harbor as the predicted team on their last legs before tearing it down. After claiming the season 19 championship on the back of an ageing core, we’ve already started to see the transition of the Legends with the new blood coming in after the regression of Seb Jett.

Who Would You Least Want To Face In The Playoffs? - Stony Brook Steel
No surprise for many, Stony Brook’s prowess was established with their playoff performances and even if you hope to get by them in a serious you can be sure it’s going to take three games and letting go of any hope to rest your starting goalie to do it.

Ideally I don't want to give you any answers because to a certain extent tactics are interpretive. So I'll try to guide you as well as I can, but the biggest thing is making sure you develop your own interpretation of the tactics.

I'm in a different game world so I don't know what the baseline levels are for Lumber. For your team skating is the strong suit for your forward group. For your defenseman it is physicality. If you look at the explanations for tactics usually each tactic will have two core attributes. Puck possession is passing and puck handling. So while your team fits the speed for transition rushes, apart of that tactic is having your defenseman drive the play up ice. Based on the skating and puck handling abilities of your defenseman they arent the best puck movers.

You should go through all of the tactics, see what is needed for each individual tactic and try to apply it to your team. It might involve you needing to make some roster moves or you could have a team assembled that will already be able to perform well under a set of tactics.

Well we're past day 50. The initial wave of players that are looking for a contract would be well over by day 5. Then gradually as the season progresses players are more open to signing with lower league teams and injury signings take up the rest.

No bug, just to late in the season. Also a helpful tip, try not to sign anyone after day 40 as when you bring a new player in they only have 'ok' confidence which hurts your overall team confidence which is never ideal, especially as you're building towards the playoffs.

The best way to go about it is to look at the definitions of the individual tactics and then compare them to your team. So if you have a team with really high passing and puck handling then puck possession would be an ideal tactic. Finding the best tactic for your team is best accomplished when you are completely familiar with the players that you have which can be especially difficult when you've only just taken control.

If you are in line for promotion you'll have a good opportunity to sign players that fit the style that you want your team to play and get rid of those that you don't. A lot of your guys will be on 'lower league contracts' once you are promoted so you can release them without any penalty to your salary cap. You can find their contract status on their transfer page after promotion or conversely they can just be buried on your affiliate.

If you have anymore questions don't hesitate to ask, I'm sure more managers will chime in with their take on the topic.

All for a roster limit. 50 I reckon would be too high though, we don't necessarily have to fill an affiliate like an NHL team. 40 would be ideal, 20 active roster players and then 20 that can be assigned. It would make roster spots an asset and something that has to be considered when deciding to sign a player.

Picked at this for a couple of seasons but never made a post. I find it a little unnecessary that if you win the first two games of a playoff series you still need to play a third. You're players aren't allowed to rest and it runs the risk of having stars injured in a meaningless game.

Also a rule of thumb I always try to stick to. Making sure you don't miss on your first round pick is far more important than hitting on your second or third. Too much value is lost by not getting the best possible talent with your first rounder.

Wick Schozen reacted to IneffableLeafs in Injuries...
Hey all, I recently had a whole bunch of players injured on one of my teams. At the current moment, to view your injured players duration's on the sidelines (i.e. 20 days, day-to-day), you either have to go to an upcoming game on your schedule and click on a preview, where you can see an injured list. You can also, of course, go to the specific player page to see the duration under the player's 'form' tab.

My suggestion is to have an easier way to quickly view injury duration.

    Some examples:
If you open the player tab (not the page, just where it shows ratings, profiles, and basic stats), you can hover over the health indicator (it would say 'INJ'), and it would tell you the injury length/duration. Have an injury list/report at the bottom of the team page Show injury duration in the health column on the team page, instead of showing 'FIT'. Let me know what you guys think.
