  1. Hey,

I am still somewhat a n00b, but here is what I collected so far after the new game started (season and some little in Buzzer and almoust a season in Cage)... as I said, take it with a grain of salt, maybe someone more experienced will have some more things to add.

    In no particular order...

    - Development of players: They seem to progress too slow. Especially the young ones... I would expect them to grow a bit more. Can't say I have older players regress quick, as I don't have too many.

    - Underestimation and overall performance of players: Now, regarding this I already notified Anders, but current Buzzer GHL season is really weird. Top team on Eastern division is performing way above their players skill (even the goalkeepers). There is also team in Western that is 5th or 6th, that has even worse players (both teams are promoted from SHL). Also, players on Buzzer with most points are 80 to 82 rated, with some serious flaws in their skills (like shooting for example, but still topping the charts). Now sure what is going on there, looks like a bug to me.

    - Signing free agents during season: I was one of those who asked for that to be removed, however I do think that whole idea would be better if there would be a player or two that showed on free agents. I would keep them in lowish average rating tho. No superstars popping up. Just a journeyman, now and then. That way, people could patch a whole or two, without unbalancing the whole league, or devalueing players too much/if any.

    - Trading when playoffs start for non playoff teams: Now, here is the tricky one. I almoust wanted to get knocked out of playoffs last season (eventually I did, but due to being outplayed by better team) so I can start trading as soon as possible and having advantage over those who are still there and want the same players I do. Not sure how to approach this one, but current system is somewhat abusable. For example, the best player in Cage GHL (Elie-Breton) is in possibilty of getting relegated trough possible playoffs and manager could trade him to some teams for picks or prospects before he losses him due to 1w contract. Teams that are out of playoffs can move in for him if he relegates, since they will have small chance of signing him for free later due to team reputation, while many other teams are still locked in playoffs. Its just a stupid example, but its abuseable. Maybe to allow all teams to trade when playoffs start, but those trades would start being effective last day of the season when everything is played and before relegated people lose players to contracts.

now to suggestions... (I am sure someone already suggested some of those, but still...)

    - Chemistry between the lines: We need more micromanagment, please. To give more control in putting our lines/teams togeather. Maybe even of personality effect of how certain people blend with each other.

    - More tactical options: Possiblity to set playstyle individially, like for example, telling players individually to go tough or gentle. That way we could have certain lines doing that, or even just players. Not just entire team. This is just an example, but I would get things complex here, I dunno, FM style ;) The more we feel in control of our team, the more we will dive into the game.

Thats just it, from top of my head. Sry for spelling mistakes :)

  2. Trading away:

    D'Onofrio, 29yo - Center - 90 rating

    Fellers, 24yo - Center - 84 rating

    Viklund, 26yo - Center - 81 rating

    Lonholm, 22yo - Forward - 83 rating

    Huneult, 33yo - Defence - 85 rating

  3. they messed up, it should be 1-8, 4-5 and 2-7, 3-6.

I posted on bug reports as well.

Unless they pair higher ranked that got through with lowest rank that advanced... but then again, since 1st and 8th are still playing, the game doesnt have that info. Or it does? ;)

  4. Play by play is brilliant idea. I played Trophymanager way back and live games brought huge amount of activity on chat.

You can simulate the game same way you do it now, but then just play it in the next hour, not knowing result in advance. For those who doesnt want to watch, they can check the result after its done, just like it is now.

  5. The Mighty Leopards started the season 18-2-0-0 (with an additional 3 preseason wins).

The 2nd quarter of the season hasn't been as good... 3-5-3-8.

At least the division became intresting :D

I am 9-0-0-4 in my last 13 games, after some trades and valuable advice from few kind people. Also, managed to get a win or two against some top teams (Minuteman, Leopards, Hawks, Union), yet 2 losses came from teams in relegation zone. Lets see if we can make it to playoffs.

  6. I had same problem with my two top-4 defenders. Luckily Coronado is now back in the line.

We can easily end playing each other in 1st round. But all 8 teams are really close, will be quite even eastern conference first round :)

  7. 10 games till the playoffs, Eastern conference teams that are currently on the playoff spots are fairly balanced. Every round the table changes and only 10ish points from 1st till 8th spot. I think playoffs are going to be very close, there is no a single team that I can say I want to meet in the first round.

Western top teams got away from the others, while there is some close race for last few playoff spots.

So, what is your goal, for the first season? :)

  8. Trading away:

Poda (18) - defenceman, rating 81 (exc trade value).

Stark (22) - defenceman, rating 84 (exc trade value).

    1st and 2nd draft pick.

Also, all of my players are available for trading combos. Feel free to send me an offer.

  9. This is interesting as everything is subjective :D

I’m a designer and tend to lean towards simplicity and cleans, concise pallets but it’s interesting to see what everyone else gravitates toward.. I will say that PaulT did a good job replicating his Bruins’ jerseys ;)

    Same here :D

  10.  Then, of course, behind the scenes, you beg me to trade my best prospect in-game.

Begged? I asked if you would consider trading him and for what? How is that begging, I don't understand.

The way you manipulate words, you do it at the market. I just want system that will prevent that. Cheers :)

  11. I personally do not mind 1-2 free agents generating every week or two, I think it adds flavour to the game and allows teams that are weak in certain positions to fill holes.

Here is what I don't like - the current reputation format. I understand if teams have built up a "Legendary" reputation via FINISHING in 1st or 2nd in the league consistently. I do not like it when during this reset, the current top 2/4 teams in every league have "Legendary/Honored" reputation already simply based on current league position, and therefore have free shots at every FA that appears. This only serves to snowball stronger teams - there is a particular one that is already stacked in the West and also managed to get one of the latest FAs.

Case in point with the most recent FA (87F) - the 2nd placed team signed him for over 1mil less than what I offered as the 7th placed team, purely on reputation. No fault of the manager involved, it's the right thing to do. However, if there ARE FAs appearing throughout the season, it is only fair that we have a nice, clean bidding war at this point, with an even ground for everyone. Otherwise, it is just silly.

Its really nothing personal, but your way of trading/gameplay is kinda what I was reffering as an exploit of current system. I know its all fair and square and you are just using "loopholes" in the system to build a stronger team, by (aside from few shady deals) offering all kind of trades and then trying to sign FAs. Now its all legitimate and all, but I think its just bad for the game.

I am therefore against FAs, due to reasons I already posted here and on chat. Without reworking trade value/trade system, this FA thingy, despite adding flavor to the game, with which I agree, creates more mess and makes game harder to balance.

  12. There is a thing with FA, that somehow allows loopholes in trading system. I will try to explain the logic behind it:

I trade 2 of my 88 guys for a 92 guy (for example). Then I sign FA player, the stronger the better. Then do it again. Etc. In some time I will have team stacked with much better players. If I am careful, salary cap won't be a problem, you can always waive.

If FA players keep appearing they are devalueing players we currently have.
