  1. Cmon you inactives! Wake up!

You took all the best players, you bastards... anyways, having said that, I am pretty happy with my fresh GHL team, its balanced as it can be. Lets see if it works, some pretty nasty teams here.

So, what are your expectations for the season?

  2. Don’t be so sure. I’ve made a few changes for the playoffs that I should have done during the season. While the injury will hurt my team should be playing a bit better than it was.

    Was joking mate :)

So, let the games begin :)

  3. So the 21st overall team finished 10th overall in the GHL with the 14th offense, 10th defense, 5th powerplay, and 9th penalty kill. That is what I call a successful season.

You could have won point or two more and make my playoff round a bit easier tho ;)

  4. Man, I took an Attack to team to experiment and going back and forth for 2 or 3 seasons is like best thing you can do in longterm.

Right now, top prospects on Attack are insane, 94 rated defender and some brilliant 88-89 rated guys with great skills and perks.

First of all, all your rookies have 3 years contract where you are not in danger of losing them. You relegate and most likely you will promote again, gaining another generational talent, if lucky with prospects.

Honestly, why would any SHL team trade their best asset even for 85+ rated players is beyond reason? Those players will help you get back to GHL and for what? Only thing that matters if you return to GHL is to get that bloody first 1-4 pick.

Honestly, I would ban trading in between leagues and furthermore I would just ban trading SHL picks due to their huge cinderella type value they have.

  5. so, playoffs coming soon... here is my score so far, with all possible opponents

    Vs Leopards 2-2

    Vs Union 1-2

    Vs Minuteman 4-0

    Vs Duhawks 2-1

    Vs Nightmares 1-3

    Vs Red Tide 1-3

    Vs Bulldogs 3-1

Too bad we don't have head to head info on versus page. I just can't seem to get going against some teams, Red Tide and Nightmares would be first to point out. Last season as well. Might be playstyle? Anyways, looking forward to playoffs :)

  6. So, I noticed that my 1st line C got the first start of the week and then saw that my two wingers were top of the league in scoring. Ummm... How is my first line the highest-scoring line in the GHL?

Dunno, Anders might be the one answering that ;)

  7. Hahaha...

Anders, time to fix assistent mate. Thats our only source of info to understand the game and when its like this... :)

Anyways, a bit inactive atm, still on vacation, sun, sea, etc :P

  8. Here, I talked to assistant to clear some things.

IP: Hi mate, lets talk about the game yesterday. And some other reports from last week.

    A: Ok.

    IP: We won 5-2 yesterday.

    A: Yes.

    IP: Lets discuss your report.

    A: Ok.

IP: Team showed no signs of underestimating our opponent.

A: No, they didn't. They went in the game fierce and furious.

IP: But the team captains failed to prepare the team on our opponent?

    A: Well, yes...

    IP: How so?

A: I don't know... maybe they didn't prepare... uhm... maybe they didn't motivate players enough.

IP: Lets talk about Hoglund. 3 points for 6 minutes of ice time. Awesome.

A: Yeah, but he wasn't quite happy with his performance. His confidence is dented and he is crying in locker room now.

    IP: How so?

A: He had 0 hits and 0 takeaways.

IP: But he scored a goal and had two assists.

    A: No hits, no takeaways...

IP: Lets talk about Breton. He didn't have best of game, but you said that his bodychecks really boosted his confidence.

A: Yeah, but he displayed some very weak bodychecks.

    IP: Ok?

A: Well, he is a player who gets his cofidence boosted only if he does weak bodychecks.

IP: Oh, ok. I didn't know that. Lets talk about game against Tomahawks, where our goalie got pulled out in first peried after allowing 4 goals from 7 shots. How did he feel after the game?

A: Great, he was very happy with his performance and it took his game to whole another level.

IP: I can see that. I see you mentioned that he didn't fit his role good? (Role 30)

A: Ah, yes. Well, he is a goalie, but naturally he is soccer goalie and being on the ice really makes it hard for him.

IP: Berthellete had a fine game. You mention that he protected the puck really well in the offensive zone.

    A: Yeah, he was awesome.

IP: He also had great checking game.

A: Yes, thats what he does. I gave him 80 for his physical performance.

IP: But your report states that he failed in physical play getting past the opponent with the puck.

A: Yeah, he can't handle the puck.

IP: But he protected the puck really well?

A: Yeah, when he got the puck he protected him along the boards great, but if he skates with it then he failed.

IP: Ok. One more thing comes to mind.

    A: Yes?

IP: You said that Arnesen wasn't affected by fatigue during the game at all.

    A: Nope, he is incredible.

IP: But you said that he had problems with endurance and failed in recovery. Recovery of what?

    A: I don't know.

IP: How he wasn't affected by fatigue if he had problems with endurance?

A: Uhm, maybe he was saving himself for last period and then, I don't know, game finished and he realised that he isn't fatigued at all.

    IP: Ok. Cya tomorrow.

    A: Bye.

  9. Paul, yeah... first time this season that my energy line did something :DDD

    Sry, doesn't feel right :D

Do I need to tell you that my fellow assitant informed me that Hoglund wasn't happy with his game perfomance and that it dented his confidence? The boy surely set his goals high.

  10. Big game against Leopards today. Last time it was 7-2 for Pauls side, worst defeat in franchise (tho short it is) history. However, many players changed teams from both sides and this will be whole new game...

Dragons have streak of 8-1-0-1, while Leopards are at 7-1-2-0 coming from a 6-1 win against Tomahawks. Also, both team are using different styles... a true test for my new tactics :)

  11. And the final piece of puzzle for the season is here, goalie.

Now we have mighty offense and somewhat shaky defence and decent goalie. Tho current one was surprisingly good.

Traded away all my picks, I guess I am way to impatient for that :DDD

  12. Is an explanation of player attributes and their effects on the game going to be assessed? For instance I don’t have a great grasp on spirit but it does seem to have a very large impact on how players perform regardless of their other abilities.

    That.

We really need some detail explanation, I am still trying to understand how things work.

  13. Welp, the biggest issue I suppose is my starter getting injured for 17 days. And my backup... at this point I can only assume he has misunderstood the term "goaltending" as guiding pucks into his own net.

Even still, I feel I'm having a streak of bad luck on top of that. After the injury, riding the backup, the team has gone 2-0-4-9. Wright is a big factor in the team, sure, but there should be enough quality in the team to pull off a (much) better record than that even when he's out.

But I still have my mind set on another cup run - will be all the more satisfying after climbing from the bottom of the standings.

    Yeah, SHL cup ;)

  14. I get what your saying and it looks appealing in that outline. The thing I get stuck on with this is once you extrapolate that to five seasons out the GHL is essentially 34 teams with the top 6 teams in the SHL being former GHL teams that have been going up and down and the remaining 22 SHL teams could never possibly accumulate talent to be able to compete with those teams.

    True.

  15. Also, here is timeline and possibilites if there is no draft switching, that I still find better solution then just stopping picks trade in between leagues.

GHL - relegated team: gets top GHL picks, something to rebuild his relegated team upon. Can trade that player up to GHL for players based on clear facts and not on speculation.

SHL - promoted team: his GHL pick is worth a ton as soon as season starts, since he can trade him for players to help him stay up. If relegated and not traded, he still got the best player, just not the season before, as it is now.

That still sounds better and more fair to me then current system. Maybe I am wrong... I don't know. However, I am pretty sure the way you can get top picks now is wrong 100% :D
