I don't. I look at it to see if a player is comfortable in their role if they are struggling. Beyond that, it is interesting to look at.
 
As for your team doing well defensively and losing by 3 goals, look at a few things. Did your goalie have a bad game? Alternately, do the game and player stats match up with that? Your team can still play well but be outdone by a few skilled players. Or the opposing team's special teams can get all of the goals effectively bypassing your team's D.

Bringing this one back from the dead because I think it is a real problem with an easy solution.
There are a couple of teams in my LIHL league that have top 2 lines filled with 65+ players. No way this is by design but rather “lucky” as others have posted. Problem being there are so few owners that the early birds get REALLY lucky and it is frustrating being a new owner and seeing there are stacked teams that you can’t compete with.
The solution in my mind is to make contracts scale closer with overall instead of however they are scaling now. Remove the “won’t sign with you right now” or at least loosen it up.
One guy has a 68 overall forward he signed this year for 33k which is INSANE. That player is firmly in the copper league skill wise and is playing for peanuts in the LIHL. He should be requesting 100-150k based on his skill alone (5-7% of CHL cap). 70 overall should be looking closer to 10% (215k) of CHL cap.
This way, you can grab one or two players outside of your league skill, but will break the bank if you sign too many. You have to be more STRATEGIC and less “lucky”. New owners can target one or two great players to build around or go for depth with proper league skill levels.

Half question/Half thinking out loud... and this just dawned on me... do you think when training is set to Offensive or Defensive that it factors in mostly Tactics - and when the training is set to General it factors in mostly player Role?

CHL: Finnegan Serpents (One of the few ones where highlight works better than shadow), Dustin White Devils (Cool in its simplicity)
 
IHL: Butte City Battlers (This league has more meh shirts than any other.. not sure if it's the high amount of computer managers maybe... didn't really check)
 
LIHL: Fillmore Hillcats, Camden Nighthawks, Torrington Thunderbolts, Ripon Scorpions (nicely distinctive color scheme and easily recognizable), Gravenhurst Hounds (the cool is here), Natashquan Assassins (just like this one for some reason), Goldville Knights (really nice and neat jersey), Harrow Lynx (simply because I think I know where the idea of this shirt comes from), 
 
Some people like brighter, some darker and some in between.. I was looking at the jerseys and trying to think would I recognize one later. This is kind of moot as well since you tend to remember your worst/best rivalries in any case. A lot of very nice ones, but also a lot of jerseys that I think the manager just didn't care enough to put in the effort.
 
EDIT: I'm not big on New York Rangers, but as Matt pointed out on chat, the color scheme is not really widely represented, so I decided to run with it while it's still early. If the away jersey ever sees daylight, and I'm going to bug Anders about it until it does, I think using white base color with red highlights spiced with blue numbers and collar will fit quite nicely.
 
Edit 2: ET2018, your jersey looks good, but it doesn't really make me go ooooh wow! My hometown team used grey jerseys at one point and it's just really doesn't kick me as a main color. I'm just one opinion though. It's very clean and crisp, so if I learn to hate your team enough, I'm sure it's as great of a color choice as any.

now i understand the idea behind making players that are "cocky" and "arrogant" seem like a bad thing, and if you have a lot of these players, that would be a detriment to the dressing room chemistry, and this suggestion would sort of make having a lot of those players a positive, but here goes. 

Not sure if a suggestion is even the proper term, but more of an observation. My team is bad, and they have been doing bad, and I ran a lot of players through my team this season, so there are a lot of players that have been sat for long periods of time. I get that this hurts their confidence and I understand the reasoning behind this in the game. But I have players that are "cocky" and "arrogant" who are "anxious" or "uncomfortable", wouldn't these players always have high confidence? isn't that what being cocky or arrogant is? always thinking your hot stuff, which means they would have little issues in the confidence department.

Now, if you changed it so that "cocky" and "arrogant" players were always confident, or at least had a confidence floor of "good", this would mean that bringing in those types of players would be a positive because they would always play at a higher level than someone who is the same skill level but has "uncomfortable" or "anxious" confidence. So I can understand that it sort of defeats the purpose of having personality issues being bad for a team. But if you could find a balance between them always being confident but they hurt the team chemistry enough that it's not worth it, etc, it may work. Or you could leave it as is, and that would be fine. As stated, not really a suggestion, just a funny observation.

To upload your own is a nice idea but can’t see this to be an option because we could face the same problem as now.

I was going to make the "upload your own logo" suggestion a while ago, but then realized that would be going down a risky path.  I still think it's a good idea.  Personally, there is literally nothing in the world that would offend me, but am also sensitive to the fact that others could be uncomfortable over various images.  We would need a way to monitor it and keep the site family friendly and/or safe for work use... if that's even possible.

Only fixed the link from team page. Forgot the trade link from player pages. Now fixed.

I am getting the same error when trying to initiate with a team from their team page - however I can initiate a trade from the transfer tab by selecting new trade, then selecting the team.  Does that work for you guys?

This bug has now been fixed.

And should also filter out players that have no interest in your team.

Here's a minor suggestion coming from a minor annoyance. When filtering players in transactions, if the filter unrealistic target box is checked, I think any player in a higher league whom has a one way contract should be hidden. It's a little bit annoying when I'm looking through a bunch of players I might potentially attempt to acquire only to change windows when I find a guy I like, and then discover that it is not actually possible for me to try and trade for the guy as he has a one way contract and I am in a lower division.
 
edit: It should also cover players in other leagues around the world whom are unable to come over this season. Another idea I had while writing this is that there should also be the option to filter players by the league that they are currently playing in.

I'd like to see the ability to mass delete messages, as I just found out last night that messages don't disappear after the 10 page limit is hit--they're still there, and deleting messages returns older ones to the inbox. 
 
Similarly, it would be nice to have a 'Saved' folder. This particularly would be useful when given the Midterm Rankings and assistant recommendation for players, as well as what trade offers that teams have declined so I don't keep offering the same two players to a team over and over again. 
 
I imagine it would help reduce strain on the database to do this, since I can't imagine having 500+ messages hanging out in my folder is helpful (fortunately I deleted a bunch once I realized that they aren't gone forever once my inbox fills up).
 
Additionally, and I don't know how to fix this necessarily, but having something that can help cut back on the crazy amounts of (x) team has offered (x) player a contract at the start of the season would be great, since messages get lost among that. Once your shortlist accumulates a decent amount of players, these notifications can fill up 5+ pages just when the calendar turns to the next season.
 
I know there's some messages bug fixes coming up in the next update, but these were a few things I was thinking last night!

I agree with the contracts not being very clear in that perspective. He should be with the club for another year up until the same day that he signed the year before. That being said, Anders has recently announced he is working on a new salary system. So more news to come! :-)

Just a small thing, but right now a shootout loss counts as a goal against for the goaltenders stats. Its nothing major but it in real life the shootout doesn't affect their stats as shots on in shootouts aren't counted so I feel like the goals shouldn't either.

I like the idea, but here some thoughts:
- can multiple players be traded? If yes, there still might be cheating since 3 mediocre players signed yesterday from FA can be traded for one great player. Still, I think 2 for 1 or 3 for 2 trades should be possible and you can have one more thing against cheaters - the signed FA cannot by traded until the following season.
- trades player for player are fine, but the game needs more. For example I'm close to delegation and I have player the is star in my league with release on relegation contract. I want to trade him and getting similar player is useless since he will not be satisfied in lower league. Solution? We need draft and trade-able draft picks!
- please no drop on confidence for players on the trade block - nobody will put decent player on the block then. That does not have to be even true, some player might want to show up and play better with chance to get in a better team.
