    2015 Champions Bowl - Semifinals

    September 28 game
Brooklyn 3 at San Diego 4 - San Diego wins 4-3Game MVP - SP Cole Hamels, San Diego, 6.2 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 7 K; 1/1, Sac BuntSeries MVP - SP Anibal Sanchez, Brooklyn, 1-0, 3 GS, 20.1 IP, 15 H, 4 ER, 6 BB, 20 KNotes: San Diego's four runs was their highest offensive output in any game in the seven-game series....The Slammers again rallied, this time to take the series. Trailing 3-1 entering the bottom of the 6th, 2B Dustin Pedroia got things started, just as he did in Game Six. Avengers SP Anibal Sanchez walked Pedroia to lead off the inning. SS Jed Lowrie then singled. Following a wild pitch that put runners on second and third, Sanchez walked C Josh Donaldson to load the bases. RF Miquel Veldhoven then hit into an RBI fielder's choice, getting Donaldson out at second and scoring Pedroia. After 1B Bob Adams struck out, LF Carlos Peguero drove in Lowrie on an RBI single. 3B Josh Fields then grounded out to third to end the inning tied 3-3....San Diego then took the lead in the 7th inning when Pedroia hit a two-out home run for the final 4-3 score....All three Brooklyn runs came in the 5th inning. After LF Carlos Lopez singled to lead off the inning, C Edoardo Luttazi went deep to give the Avengers a 2-1 lead. SS Steve Hastings then made it back-to-back with a line drive home run to left field for the 3-1 lead....The Avengers' 3-4-5 hitters, CF Mike Trout, 1B Alberto Vasquez, and 3B Martin Prado combined to go 0 for 10 with two walks and five strikeouts....Lowrie led all hitters, going 3 for 4 with a double and two runs scored....Veldhoven led the Slammers with two runs driven in....Brooklyn SP Sanchez's final line was six innings pitched, six hits allowed, three earned runs, two walks, and five strikeouts. Nori Kichada, who suffered the loss, gave up the solo home run to Pedroia for his only run allowed. In two innings, he allowed two hits with an earned run and two strikeouts.

September 25 games  San Diego 3 at Brooklyn 4 - Brooklyn leads 3-2Game MVP - SP Stephen Strasburg, Brooklyn, 6 IP, 2 H, ER, BB,  K; 1/2, 2B, RNotes: The Avengers' Strasburg threw a nice game, only giving up a solo third-inning home run to San Diego 3B Josh Fields. Strasburg also helped his own cause by leading off the bottom of the fifth with a double and then scoring on the next play when Fields booted RF Justin Upton's ground ball to give Brooklyn a 3-1 lead....San Diego's starter Hyun-Jin Ryu pitched a good game but not good enough. In eight innings, he allowed four runs, two earned, on 10 hits with five strikeouts. He was the only pitcher in the game for his team.... The Slammers' three runs all came on home runs. C Josh Donaldson made the game more interesting in the ninth when he hit a two-run homer with no outs.... Brooklyn reliever Michael Stutes was chased after facing only two batters. Sergio Escalona came on to earn the save, allowing the tying run to reach yet retiring the other three batters....Avengers 2B Adam Kennedy had to leave the game in the 4th after suffering a bruised knee. He is not expected to return to the series, though he could return for the championship series if Brooklyn reaches.... Kennedy's replacement, Leon Deneuve, tied for the team lead in hits with two. He was 2 for 2 with a double and a run scored.... Eight of Brooklyn's 10 hits were singles....Fields led the Slammers in hitting, going 2 for 3 with a home run, a run scored, an RBI, and a walk.    Philadelphia 4 at Dallas 7 - Dallas wins 4-1Game MVP - SP Johnny Cueto, Dallas, 8 IP, 10 H, 4 ER, 7 K; 1/3, RSeries MVP - SP Jordan Zimmerman, Dallas, 2-0, 2 GS, 14 IP, 14 H, 4 ER, BB, 14 KNotes: Tycoons C Mike Napoli's three-run blast in the third inning got Dallas' offense moving for its seven-run barrage in the 3rd and 4th innings. His homer was Dallas' second and last extra-base hit of the game. 3B Yonder Alonso hit a lead off double in the 2nd....Philadelphia SP Ricky Nolasco had a poor outing, allowing all seven runs on seven hits with two walks and three strikeouts in 3.1 innings. Three Liberty relievers combined to pitch the final 4.2 innings, allowing no runs on three hits with two walks and two strikeouts....The Liberty's only big inning came in the 6th when they scored all four of their runs. CF Alex Escobar led off with a single, followed by a two-run blast by SS Cliff Pennington. RF Jorge Mercado then singled and scored on 1B Yeow-whye Cheung's two-run home run. LF Charlie Brewster and C Nick Hundley both followed with singles before Cueto settled down to retire the next three batters, ending Philadelphia's threat....Both Escobar and Pennington ended up having to leave the game on a stretcher in the bottom of the 6th after being injured on a pop-up when the two-men collided. Escobar suffered two broken ribs, while Pennington suffered an intercostal strain. Had the Liberty moved on, both players would have had to been placed on injured reserve....Dallas LF Anastasio Nava and CF Chris B. Young each led the team with two hits. Napoli led the team with three RBI.

This will be a dynasty thread about the Highland Potters in the Pennant Wars Williams League, Division 1.

A little background about Pennant Wars. PW is an online fictional baseball sim. It simulates games 6 times a day creating seasons that last approximately 6 weeks real time. Each league has four divisions to create post-season promotion/relegation opportunity so that the best teams rise to D1 over time. This structure also creates some nice introductory divisions for new managers. PW is heavily sabermetrics focused and has a great community full of active managers. If you want to check it out, the first season is free.

My team started in 2013 with creation of the Williams league. Under a different manager the franchise was named the Thai Fighters and had some early success. The franchise started in Division 2 (D2) and in 2014 earned promotion by finishing in at the top of its conference and defeating a poor performing D1 team 4-2 in a 7 game series. The Fighters continued to succeed, winning their 2015 D1 conference with a regular season record of 97-65. But the Fighters were summarily drummed out of the semifinals of the World Series by the Yerba Buena Zephyrs.

After 2015, the team went into a free fall. They lost their star player, Harold Pillar (retired in 2030 with career OPS of .885 and 340 home runs). I'm not sure what happened, but at some point the team's first manager left and the now rudderless Fighters had three losing seasons (2016-2018) and were demoted back to D2. At this point I joined Pennant Wars and was assigned the Thai Fighters. I rebranded the team the Highland Potters and got to work stabilizing the franchise in preparation for the 2019 season.

    March 1974
    Boston, Massachusetts

United Flight 169 from Cleveland dropped out of clouds at 12,000 feet into a warm (for March), brilliant morning. She was a Boeing 737-200, almost brand new with less than 1,000 hours wear, and her red, white and blue hull arced gracefully through the sky as she banked into the traffic pattern at Logan International.

She was a full flight with some 120 people on board including crew, mostly businessmen with a handful of revelers in the back rows determined to paint the city green well in advance of St. Patrick's Day. Of the former, there were two situated in first class near the cockpit. The elder was in his forties, a thick, heavy shouldered man with receding brown hair. His companion was some ten years younger, shorter and smaller: A man more used to the office than the playing field. That would be me.

"You will love Boston, I'm sure," Haywood Sullivan said. "There is no other city quite like it in the world, and no team quite like the Red Sox." He lifted his champagne glass in salute and drained it before giving it to the passing stewardess.

Perhaps that should have been my first warning - or my sixth: Boston's Director of Player Operations, for all intents and purposes their Assistant GM, practically inviting me to supersede him. When I hit my thirtieth birthday I thought myself a man of the world. It turned out I didn't have a clue. Ambition drove out all other thought: I could play second fiddle to Phil Seghi in Cleveland, a team that hadn't won the pennant since '54, or I could run the Red Sox, who needed just one tiny nudge to turn into a dynasty.

"I look forward to meeting Mr. Yawkey," I replied, which was true enough. Boston's patriarch bought the team before I was even alive. I imagined he knew more about baseball than I ever would. If they were sincere about offering me the GM position, and all signs pointed to 'yes', I looked forward to learning from the best.

"Please, call him Tom. Oh, and his wife, Jean. We are all family here."

    ------------

The Yawkeys' inner sanctum was a suite at the Ritz-Carlton: Bedroom (which I never saw), dining room, living room, pantry and library, all with marble floors, scones on the walls intricately detailed arches, paintings, wood furniture. The living room alone displayed more wealth than I'd seen in my lifetime.

A Ritz-Carlton employee opened the door to let us in: Pandemonium. Boxes everywhere. Another harrassed employee putting decorations on a shelf. The Yawkeys wintered in South Carolina, and coming 'home' was always an adventure. In the middle of the living room, directing traffic like a police officer, was a woman in her sixties or seventies. Haywood paced over to her and she smiled. He whispered, and sharp eyes focused on me. Then she nodded at him and pat his arm. Sullivan indicated a set of double doors and I followed him through.

"Was that Mrs. Yawkey?" I asked.

"Jean. Yes," he confirmed. "Let her get the house in order and I'll introduce you."

The library, really a small nook with two empty shelves and a desk, held two men. The younger, leaning over the desk and pointing something out on one of the papers, looked up and smiled politely. Smaller man, wide and intent eyes. "Tom, Haywood's here."

"I can see that," rasped the older man. Tom Yawkey was once a broad shouldered, strong man but I could see where age had stolen some of that strength with hollows around his throat and temples. He could still smile though, and his eyes, though perhaps a bit tired, were clear enough. Yawkey lumbered to his feet. "Mister Grey? It's a pleasure." He shook my hand. "John, perhaps you and Haywood can wait outside? This should only take a few minutes."

Once the two left, Yawkey's gaze following them, he sat back with a sigh. "How do you like Boston, Mister Grey?"

"I like it fine, sir." I sat across from him. "I...it's a beautiful city." Not that I'd seen any of it.

"I love Boston," he answered. "And I love the Red Sox. So long as you feel the same, we can do business. All this..." He indicated the papers on his desk, "...is a labor of love for me, and I want my employees to feel the same."

He hadn't asked a question, so I nodded politely.

"When Dick let me know his heart wasn't in it anymore, I brought him to South Carolina for a talk." Dick O'Connell was the former Red Sox general manager, who'd stepped aside only days before pitchers and catchers reported to Winter Haven. "I tried to reason with him, and to be honest I don't think he said whatever needed to be said. Perhaps it's my fault. It's true I didn't cordially like him, and my wife would barely speak with him, but he was good at his job. I respected his decisions."

    "Yes, sir."

"Tom," he corrected. "This left an opening, and your name came up. I'd like to know, in general, what you'd do with my team if I offered you the position."

"Well, sir...Tom, your team is in a strong position to win the division or pennant already. I'd perhaps seek out a reliever or two to bolster the bullpen, and I'm worried about your depth and staying power. The team's young and lacks coherent leadership from the..."

He leaned forward. "You don't think Yastrzemski will do?"

"He might." 1B/OF Carl Yastrzemski had been with the team since 1961. 10 time All Star, 6 Gold Gloves, one MVP and a fan favorite in the bargain. If he could keep healthy for another five years or so it was hard to imagine him not getting into Cooperstown. "I've never met him."

Yawkey nodded. "That's fair enough. Anyway that's more Darrell's territory." Darrell was the team's new manager. "I agree with your assessment, but would add the need for a stronger second baseman. Catcher and center field are set, and if (Rick) Burleson does what I expect than shortstop should be fine as well. You'd agree that a solid center core is vital to success?"

"Of course." Personally I leaned towards pitching: Visions of Bob Gibson and Denny McLain absolutely dominating 1968 flashed through my mind, but perhaps this was my first lesson at Yawkey's knee.

"Good." Yawkey inhaled and suddenly looked tired. As if on cue, his wife strode in with pills and a glass of water. Tom took both and waved at her. "My wife..."

"Jean? It's a pleasure to meet you." I stood up and offered my hand, mine turned so as to take hers.

The beginning of a polite smile died when I said her name, and her brow arched. "Mister Grey," she replied distantly. She clasped my fingertips for a fraction of a second before turning back. "Dear, if you're finished with the gentlemanyou should come rest. I've already sent Haywood and John away."

Yawkey nodded agreement and rose. "Mister Grey, I've arranged rooms for you here over night. I need to make a few calls...talk to a few people, but you will have my answer in the morning.

Hi everyone.  After just starting to repost one of my dynasties here I've had a change of heart.  After going back and reposting several posts I feel like I'm doing double work.  Maybe if I started fresh it would work better, or maybe it's just what I'm used to.  I just know for me that if I keep doing that I'm going to abandon it here eventually.  So hopefully this will work out a little better for me, and I'll be doing this dynasty exclusively here.

I've had pretty good success in the past with a narrow focus for a dynasty.  About six years ago I did one of my first dynasties on the OOTP boards, maybe even my first, called The Home Run.

I focused exclusively on the home run, was able to move through history pretty quickly, not get bogged down by anything else, and I had a lot of fun doing it.  With OOTP 16 one of my favorite new features is the Hall of Fame voting, although it takes a long time to see how the voting plays out.  Usually at least.

So what I'm going to do is focus exclusively on the Hall of Fame, the voting, the players elected, and the players on the ballot, and hopefully have fun doing it.

    A few ground rules -

I won't be taking control of any team I'll be moving forward one year at a time I won't be talking about any player until they retire I will be using OOTP's engine instead of recalc I'll be beginning in 1871 when simming through history, but 1886 will be the first year for the Hall of Fame
If you have any questions please let me know, and hopefully this will be a fun journey.

Hi everyone.  I'll be cross posting this dynasty that I started a few days ago in the OOTP forums, so just a bit of catch-up to get started.

    -------

Every time a new version comes out I like to create a new league and take it for a test drive. There are several new features in OOTP 16 that I'm excited for, and thought that it would be fun to start in 1871 and replay a history of Major League Baseball.

I won't be taking control of any team, and will be using OOTP 'out of the box', at least primarily. That means I'll be starting with a historical league and letting OOTP control franchise movement, expansion, and player development. Historical players will import and recalc will be turned off, letting the OOTP engine control how players will develop. That will also mean that things like the All-Star game, awards, World Series, and Hall of Fame will be around from the beginning. The only changes from defaults will be turning off baseball cards, disabling spring training, and renaming a few awards - the Cy Young Award will be the Pitcher of the Year Award to start, and I change the offense and defensive awards to Silver Slugger and Gold Glove.

We'll begin in 1871 with the American League made up of future franchises of the Baltimore Orioles, Oakland Athletics, Cleveland Indians, and New York Yankees. The National League will consist of the Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves, and Cincinnati Reds.

    Hey,

Thanks for the post! Glad that people are enjoying the story so far. Pentecost has to have had a number of talent bumps over the last couple of seasons and is really rounding into a top flight catcher. As for Ochinko he played in the Jays system with the AAA Buffalo Bisons until the conclusion of the 2015 season. In 2015 he hit .301 with 3 HR and 23 RBI in 42 games. At the end of 2015 he became a free agent and didn't sign with any new clubs. He retired at the end of the 2017 season and is currently a bench coach for the University of Hawaii Rainbows in the NCAA. He holds a career record of 42-30 in 2 seasons at the helm.

I have been dying to get back into writing a dynasty report ever since I lost my Blue Jays Dynasty after a corrupted hard drive killed it in 2032. So I decided to start a new 2015 game and let it sim 5 seasons before I took over. I wanted to see what the computer GM would do with the Jays and to be honest he did a very good job!

In 5 seasons the Blue Jays managed to make the playoffs 4 times (with 2017 being the exception) and in the last 2 seasons they have had the best record in baseball winning 103 games in 2019 and 110 in 2019. The regular season is where their success seems to stop however, as they have not made it out of the first round yet losing to Detroit in 2018 and just this past season they were swept by the Cleveland Indians.

We pick up our story at the conclusion of the 2019 Playoffs. The National League Champion Philadelphia Phillies have steam rolled the Cleveland Indians 4 games to 1 to capture the 2019 World Series. The Phillies went 88-7 during the regular season capturing the National League East Crown before beating the Dodgers and the Brewers en route to their 3rd World Series title and 1st since 1998. The Rule V draft is right around the Corner and the Jays new GM, Ryan Stewart has some very big decisions looming with a couple of players in Salary Arbitration.

Here we go! Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy.

Burnett, Phoenix, 7 IP, 4 H, ER, 2 BB, 4 KSeries MVP - CF Axel Darke, Phoenix, 9 of 24, 3 2B, 3B, 2 HR, 6 R, 9 RBI, 2 BBNotes: Phoenix SS Starlin Castro was having a great game--3 of 3 with a double--before he was injured in the sixth inning with a hand contusion and had to leave the game.He was the only Firebirds' batter to have more than one hit in the game....Series MVP Darke just missed a home run in the first inning, leaving him one RBI short of double digits in the series. He finished the game with his lowest output of the series: 1 for 3 with a run and a walk....Cyclones SS Troy Tulowitzki may have earned MVP honors had Cincinnati taken the series. He was the only player to have multiple hits with the Cyclones, going 2 for 4 in the game....Cincinnati had no RBI in the game. Their one run came as the result of a walk, single, passed ball, and then wild pitch....Cincinnati pitcher Olsen allowed four earned runs on seven hits with two walks and seven strikeouts in 7.2 innings.... The Cyclones' loss denies them the chance to be the first team to win both the Diamond Trophy and the Tournament of Champions Bowl. The only other team that pulled off a similar accomplishment was the first season on the tournaments when the Charlotte Flyers improbably won both the Gamma League and Tournament of Champions Bowl.

Hi, everyone. I have left a dynasty of epic proportions on the back burner because my computer cannot handle it or OOTP cannot handle it. Maybe a combination of both. Unfortunately for me, I spent dozens of hours making uniforms, creating histories, and all kinds of things for that world only to have it blow up OOTP 15 for me multiple times. It was a sad day, but I finally decided I would retry once I buy a brand new, state-of-the-art gamer's laptop. That probably won't happen before the summer of '16, so in the meantime, here is a doable dynasty I have created with some of the franchises from my epic world, basically concentrated on North America, with the U.S. and Canada getting first dibs.

    The set up is this:

48 teams divided into four leagues of 12 teams apiece.
The Alpha League represents the top league with more money available in the budget and a higher league reputation (10).
The Beta League as the second best league and a league reputation of 7.
The Gamma League with the third best money and league reputation (4).
The Omega League where only the teams struggling the most play. The league reputation there is 1, and teams who dwell in the OL for FIVE consecutive years without being promoted to the Gamma League are forced to fold their franchise for a city waiting in the wings. Cities awaiting franchises will be revealed later when there are teams in danger of folding.

There are a number of tournaments each year, which helps to make the leagues interesting, and hopefully takes care of the OOTP problem of teams not trying to win. Here are the tournaments:

Tournament of Champions: This is the post-season tournament that is considered to be the true championship tournament. There are ten teams involved: the top four teams of the Alpha League, the top three teams of the Beta League, the top two teams of the Gamma League, and the regular season champion of the Omega League. The first round consists of a three-game series. The quarterfinals, semifinals, and championship are five-game series.

Spring Bowl: This is the first tournament of the season and takes place in February. As of 2014, the tournament is a 24-team tournament allowing the top six teams of each league (basically allowing teams with winning records in) in a double elimination tournament.

    In-Season Tournaments:

Battle for the Diamond Trophy: The top four teams of the Alpha League take on each other in a championship playoff. The winner proves to be the best of the Alpha League for that season.

Alpha Cup: This is a one-round series between the fifth and sixth place teams of the regular season in the Alpha League.

Honors Cup: This is the battle for survival in the Alpha League as each of the final six teams are on the chopping block to be demoted to the Beta League. The last two teams survive into the next season as well as battle it out in a three-game series and the Honors Cup.

Battle for the Gold Trophy: The top three teams face off in the Beta League championship tournament. The second and third place teams meet in the first round for the right to meet the first place team in the championship series. All three teams are automatically promoted to the Alpha League.

Beta Cup: The fourth through seventh teams meet in a two-round tournament for the right to be the fourth team to be promoted from the Beta League. Winner moves on to the Alpha League; losers remain in the Beta League.

Beta Survivors Cup: The bottom five teams face off in a race for survival. Four teams drop to the Gamma League. One team wins the Beta Survivors Cup to remain in the Beta League for at least another season.

Battle for the Silver Trophy: The top two teams of the Gamma League meet in a seven-game, winner-take-all championship series. Both teams get automatically promoted to the Beta League.

Gamma Cup: The third through sixth place teams meet for the right to claim the Gamma Cup. The two teams that meet in the Gamma Cup Series are promoted to the Beta League.

Gamma Survivors Cup: The final six teams meet in a survival to remain in the Gamma League. Only the winner of the Gamma Survivors Cup remains. All other teams drop to the Omega League where they have no choice but to battle from the basement.

Battle for the Bronze Trophy: Just like the Gamma League, only the top two teams meet up in this seven-game series for the right to claim the Omega League title. Both teams are automatically promoted to the Gamma League.

Omega Cup: The third through tenth seeds meet for the right to move up. The two teams that meet in the final are automatically promoted to the Gamma League, with the winner of that three-game series taking home the Omega Cup. There is also a series for the other two semifinalist teams with the winner of that series being the fifth team promoted to the Gamma League.

    Other Rules:
The regular season is 132 games long with each team facing the other teams in their league 12 times (six home and six away games in four total series).

There is no DH allowed in any of the leagues.

Teams have a 25-man active roster with a 15-man reserve roster.

There is a mixture of real and fictional players.

    The Origin of Baseball

A number of theories posit that Abner Doubleday was not the true inventor of baseball, but the evidence weighs heavy against them. The vast majority of historical research points to Doubleday inventing the game in May of 1839 in Cooperstown, New York. Doubleday, soon to depart for West Point, set down the official rules to baseball with his boyhood friends. The group had long played stick and ball games, and the future Union general later said that the rules had served as a going away present.

“The games of ball and stick were the predominant pastime of my youth in Cooperstown,” Doubleday recounted, “and, so, that what we had undertook could live on, we set about recording how it was to be played.”

    Abner Doubleday

The Baseball Rules of 1839 bear many differences to the modern game, but the similarities are evident enough to leave little doubt that this was the genesis of the sport. The emphasis was on gentlemanly conduct initially, but winning was still the source of high honor. Amongst the amateur clubs, talent was widely diffused. That didn’t stop participants from establishing the strategic fundamentals of their infant game. The best clubs of this era were those proficient in defense and baserunning. The difficulties of barehanded fielding and rough hewn diamonds meant that fielders who could overcome the natural bias were tough opponents. Speed on the basepaths exploited defensive miscues and led to big innings. Hitting was not yet the toughest task, since batters could call for a specific location, and the pitcher was usually obliged to cooperate. The best hitters, then, were those who could control the area where their ball was to be hit, and with what force.

Doubleday was not to witness the first game of baseball. Several of his companions went to New York City that summer, and finding the ball game scene there thriving, if unorganized, set about establishing a club to promote their social status. They were confident in their new rules, and formed the Alpha Baseball Club of New York, recruiting several local players to expand their ranks. On Saturday, July 6th, they took a ferry across to New Jersey and Elysian Fields, and there met a picked nine of opponents in the first game of baseball ever played.

This is a cross-post from the OOTP Developments forum, and from this point, other than comments from this community, it will be a direct copy of my posts on that thread, so I felt I should post this to avoid any possible confusion!

It was God's great equalizer. No matter who you were, how much or how little you had, every man faced the same fate. There was no escape. No one to bargain with, no deals to be made. It was final.

It wasn't a thought 93-year old Ralph Wilson liked to contemplate. He knew he had led a rich, full life -- World War II veteran, successful businessman, husband and father. He had been elected to the NFL Hall of Fame as a builder for his role in the AFL and NFL as the Buffalo Bills owner. Even the stadium where he his team played bore his name. He couldn't have wished for a better life. By any measure, it had been extraordinary.

There were so many mornings he told himself he was ready for the next world, ready as any man could possibly be for death. That the nagging pains of old age were too much to bear. That once your body deteriorated to a certain point you were no longer living; you were just surviving.

But he knew all that was a lie. There was so much beauty in this world, so much to cherish.

He loved the crisp Autumn Sundays when Ralph Wilson Stadium was so alive. Grinning fathers and sons tossing footballs in the parking lot before games. The smell of sausages cooking on open grills. The sound of laughter between friends, the roar of crowds at kickoff. The electricity of it all!

Football was more than just a sport in western New York. It was part of the very fabric of the community. If you lived in Buffalo it was an integral part of your identity. It didn't matter if you were black or white, female or male, a lawyer or a warehouse worker. Everyone was united on Sunday. Everyone wanted a win for their Buffalo Bills.

The Bills were his greatest accomplishment and his greatest failure.

He had founded the team, kept the Bills alive when the steel and manufacturing industry collapsed and the city's population decreased to the point that in 2000 its population was less than it was in 1900. He had done it with the lowest ticket prices in the NFL. The team soared to great heights and was the talk of the NFL when it became the first and only team to appear in four consecutive Super Bowls between 1990 and 1993.

But that was a long, long time ago.

The four losses in the Super Bowl had cemented the city's inferiority complex. To make matters worse the team had missed the playoffs 12 consecutive years, an eternity. He had refused to accept his Hall of Fame award at the half time of a home game as scheduled because he feared he would be booed and cursed.

He heard the chatter grow louder everyday that the team would be better off with new owners, better after he was dead!

This team that had brought him such happiness and such joy to the community was now bringing him hatred. How could that have happened? It was impossible!

Ralph Wilson looked out the window of his executive office at the sun-drenched empty stadium. He pictured the stadium full of fans standing and cheering wildly like they had in the 1990s. He promised himself he would see that again before he died.

He was going to turn this football team around.

He had signed one of the best defensive players in the league, defensive end Mario Williams to a six-year, $100-million dollar contract. He didn't care if people thought it was too much money tied up for one player. It was his money.

His name was not going to become synonymous with losing. He was going to go out a winner and he was prepared to make one more change to make sure that happened.

Death was going to have to wait a little longer.

    Year 2: Michael Angelo's Work

As the 2286 season approached, Michael Angelo was able to reveal the newest uniforms, as well as updating some of the old uniforms. All uniforms would be worn for the first time starting on Opening Day.
Every MBL team had both a home and away uniform.  The PL teams had only one uniform, except for Nuka Cola and H&H Tool Company since they were using the 2285 major league team uniforms. The NCR Cubs were using the home uniform for the major league club. Aerotech Tops used the road Tops uniform. RobCo only had one uniform in 2285, so the RobCo PL team was using that uniform.  Overall Michael Angelo and his crew did a great job of making each uniform look unique without huge color overlaps from team to team.

I hope it's OK to transport this dynasty over here. I had intentions of starting a new dynasty with OOTP 15 soon, but in the meantime, I am trying to finish up my OOTP 14 dynasty, a journey into the post-game world of Fallout: New Vegas. This dynasty originally started on May 23, 2013, so it is nearly a year old and I am nearing its completion, but I hope you can enjoy it here.

Disclaimer: The following dynasty is a Fan Fiction dynasty of the game Fallout: New Vegas. I am in no way associated with Fallout, Bethesda Games, or any affiliates thereof. All images used from the game are property of Bethesda Games. I have no financial gains from these images or the characters and locations from within the game.  The Dynasty: This dynasty will take place after the events of the end of the Fallout: New Vegas game. I am using the Courier, the main character of the game, as an ambassador in post-war New Vegas to generate a professional baseball league.  I am liberally using characters, places, and events from the Fallout universe to create this account of my dynasty. You can call it a true fan fiction dynasty because I am diverting from some story lines of the game to fit my fictional needs. Thus there will be some associations that are impossible in the game that I made possible in my rewritten account of the game.  I have not included any of the downloadable content because I have not played any of it, only the original version of the game. Thus some story lines or characters that may have been different in the downloadable content will not be reflected in the same way.  Also, this dynasty includes some Fallout: New Vegas SPOILERS. If you have not played the game but plan to in the future, you may want to consider that I am revealing the ending of the game and a few other key elements of the game in my dynasty. Please keep that in mind!!!  Additionally, I don’t know how the filters of the OOTP forums work, but I am using some language consistent with the language used in the Fallout games, so be aware that there will be adult words used.  As a final note, the logos used in this dynasty are taken from the Fallout Wiki and Google searches. I have created all team uniforms based on those logos.  I hope you enjoy this dynasty. Feedback appreciated!

I have been a member of sports sim communites since 2007, I believe. Though I have been playing online sims longer than that, I never wanted to share in my hobby until I moved to Korea from the States. Then, I needed a place where I could finally unwind with some of my deepest and darkest secrets: playing sports sims until the wee hours of the morning with notebooks filled for player tracking, drafts, etc.

As I mentioned, I moved to Korea in 2007 from the States. I have been in Korea nearly seven years now, and I plan to stay for the foreseeable future. I have a great Korean wife (beautiful inside and out, smart, and passionate), two young boys aged 3 and 9 months, and a great job (college English instructor) that gives me nearly five months of vacation per year, perfect for me to pursue my hobbies of sports sims and writing.

The main reason I will be here is for dynasty writing. I have been intending to post dynasties here for a long time, but I forget. It's hard to keep up with where to go. These days, I almost exclusively play OOTP, but I own several other sports sims, including the newest version of Front Office Football, in which I will probably start to fire up in earnest again around August/September. I also look forward to the OOTP version of football. Football is my favorite sport to watch, but baseball is probably my favorite sport to read about and sim.
