Steve reacted to Erzac in Season 2 General Chat
Welp, the biggest issue I suppose is my starter getting injured for 17 days. And my backup... at this point I can only assume he has misunderstood the term "goaltending" as guiding pucks into his own net.
Even still, I feel I'm having a streak of bad luck on top of that. After the injury, riding the backup, the team has gone 2-0-4-9. Wright is a big factor in the team, sure, but there should be enough quality in the team to pull off a (much) better record than that even when he's out.
But I still have my mind set on another cup run - will be all the more satisfying after climbing from the bottom of the standings.

ha! Yeah, I've been on RL vacation for a few weeks so not very active here, but have been wanting to ask you what is different this season?!?! Plenty of time to turn it around, trust me!

I love to playing with you as well, rainsilent. Always impressed to see what you can do with your team. And always happy if I manage to beat you
I think in this new release no one is mighty anymore. Kegashka has great team, but Erzac have beaten them and he is now at the bottom of the league, so anything is possible.
I especially liked my last game with Union yesterday - 82 saves made by both goalie before it went to SO. 1-0 for Union, but still happy with my defense work there!

You want trash talk? Well ok. Here is likely the most that you will get from me. As of the current moment of typing this the... stops to check... 10th ranked team in the East is in 2nd place. I even managed to beat Bouncer's mighty Hawks 1-0. That might be the 20th time I have ever beat him. That is with over 25 seasons of playing against him. Yet I love playing against his teams.

Thank You Paul!
It's me Antti From Kamikaze.
Last season was rough, but now... My only goal is to get back to GHL!
13-0-0-0 is not bad start to get there.

Both Arcticwolves and Blag Flag jerseys look nice. Pretty unique color combos. It's always been a bit of a problem to not have enough mascots matching team names.

Steve reacted to Paul T in Season 2 General Chat
As of right now, everyone!
My favorites this season would be Union, Cats & Tide out of the East - and Hawks, Prairie & Ricochet out of the West.
Don't let the power rankings deceive you, the Def Leppards have some internal struggles we are dealing with (both tactically and personnel-wise). We may or may not turn it around by end of season.
Dark horse: Enigma Rage.

so as a heads up, anyone looking in transactions might see me having traded the same players, multiple times, to different teams, for no one in return... yeah i was curious about trading for untouchable players and didnt know what if anything would make them go through. so... yeah... sorry and my bad for any confusion

Steve got a reaction from ColoKrabatt in Breaching the cap when new season starts?
I'm ok with the multiple offers since I'd assume you won't get most or even any of your offers back. Otherwise you end up getting dumped and then it is a mad scramble with all the others that received lost out to get the ignored FAs. It can get frustrating. What could spice it up is if you are over your cap, you should lose your draft picks or something. There needs to be a really strong penalty for going over beyond just not being able to trade or assign players up and down. If you walk away with four 90+ players from FA but are over the cap, you shouldn't be able to skate off into the sunset towards the playoffs.

Thanks!
Really couldn't have asked for a more exciting series. The slumbering top lines finally woke up for the 5th game to bring it home.

Congrats, Erzac!

Steve reacted to GamePlanHockey in How to train specific attributes
Hi
What skills/ratings that are included in the different training types depends on what tactics your team is using at the moment. In short you can say that offensive training will train your players to create and finish scoring chances on your current tactic. Defensive training will train them to defend using your current tactic. General training will combine the both types.
Take the Physical rating as one example, it will be trained when choosing offensive training if you are using Crash the net tactics. But not if you're using Puck Possession.
Hope that answers your question in some way at least.
We're also looking to include an update regarding the player training in one of the upcoming releases (perhaps after the summer, no promises though). The update will include the possibility to be more specific on what skills/ratings to train for a specific player.

market might be rough, people desperate to compete with a lot of cap space overspending

I can see quite a many players starting off of the bat from this draft. At the current moment, low 80s is more than workable in most lineups. In fact, I would dare say that a few managers can get all of their picks playing right now. Most notably the Rage's 3 picks could all be starting off of the bat and be productive.

GHL portion of the draft when about as expected. I'm happy that the draft engine also seems to be better at listening to your draft preferences and drafting players on your "needs" list before some otherwise not useful players.
Now that we have introduced 85+ 17 year olds, will be interested to see if/how soon they become 90+ovrs and test the development engine. I think it is reasonable to think the top 10 draftees might start in the upcoming season, but wonder how many in the top 20 will become 90+ ovrs.....

You both can rest easy, for the 'Cats are built to win *for* the next 3-4 seasons.
