My team must be way under the radar if you missed again See, I do this just to test to see if anyone is actually reading my comments! I'm not even going to suggest what this means you think of your cousins! haha. But yes, annoying for us all, but I don't think there are many of us that would NOT want to switch teams with you, ha, so well deserved and VERY impressive run for you both. Good luck tonight. Is it possible both your teams are completely injured for the next 30 days?!?! Anders, make this happen!

Between Protons and the Vandals, you guys have won 8 of the last 10 GHL titles (6 Protons/2 Vandals) with Vandals trying to repeat. Trying to root for one of you in this series is like trying to decide which cousin I should try to kiss at the family reunion.

Great game for the GHL championship last night between Vandals and Protons. Protons had it won (likely) had it not been for those two costly penalties in the 3rd and the 2 PPGs from Vandals that gave them the 1 goal victory. Trying to decide who to cheer for is a lot like watching the Knights-Caps series, either way, we all lose! haha.

And to you! I think you had 3SHG in the series!?!? I'm glad my team played better than their opponent for once this season! To be honest, I think SHL is probably more fun than GHL now, so have fun and I'm sure we'll be playing each other again in the not too distant future.

The 3:20 Mark is probably the sound my goalie will be making late in the 2nd.

GHL vs SHL playoffs tonight! I'm up against Mohawks who won 3 of 4 when they were in GHL last season. This should be interesting......

Building a new team with 3-4 seasons of #1 draft picks?!? We see how well that has worked for Buffalo and Arizona....

  11. Some players are just greedy, which is good! But now, most seem too cheap for their own good. The whole point of contract negotiations is for a player reaching their peak, either in skill or ego, is they SHOULD ask for more. I'm not sure how the engine works or if it is just based on individual player's requests. It'd be cool if I offered a 90ovr player $3M a year that suddenly all the other 90ovr players start thinking, hmmm, maybe I should be getting that too, etc. That is probably more difficult than coding individual players and likely why we have the current situation, but now it is too easy to keep an All-Star level team in GHL and then back stock players in the AAHL that should be GHL starters or too expensive and in the SHL as a Star. I'd be all for a 10-20% cap reduction in the GHL.
  12. Agreed, I just resigned my top defenseman for the third straight year to a one year contract for less money than the previous contract and he is probably his prime. Also, my 93ovr goalie is willing to take a 50% cut to stay on my team after I benched him half way through the season for having his worst season out of five. His ovr hasn't changed and he is 37, but he is asking for less than my 27 year old AAHL starter..... The cap is too damn high! Haha, but I do think lowering it would create a positive cascading effect where all these FULL lineups of 90+ovr teams would have to let players go, and more of the mid 80 players would need to be used at the GHL or made available for SHL.

Here we are the last game of the season and as usual, lots to still be decided. With the top four teams in GHL so close, any of the top four could still win the regular season crown. That's just crazy. As usual, the final spot will be decided tonight as well. Stray Cats, Wolf Pack, and Sabercats are all within one point. Lower down, last night's Elite squeaky win past Volcano has Volcano, Miners, and Elite separated by just two points trying to avoid the dreaded relegation playoffs. Two key matchup tonight. Wolf Pack vs Elite since both teams are fighting for their survival. Also, if Vandals can beat the Indians, they will win the league title. The SHL is just as wild since Bangers beat Musketeers last night, now Bangers (5th) locked their postseason berth and put the next to last nail in the Musketeers' dreams. Musketeers can still get in, but now need to hope Bangers thump Leopards since the Musketeers can only get in if they win AND make up the three goal difference with Leopards. Key Matchup: Bangers vs Leopards!

2 to go! With last night's victory, Minutemen have secured their playoff goals. Also, Miners beat Elite 2-1 with a 3rd period SHG (that pretty much sums up my season) to grab the cheap champagne slot of 12th. They control their own destiny now. Straycats and Wolf Pack both lost, so it's a dead heat for the final two spots. No real key matchups tonight as the schedule tends to favor the top half teams, so anything can happen. Over in the SHL, Admirals locked up 1st place by holding Thundering Herd to only two goals. The Bangers loss and wins by Musketeers and Leopards means those three teams are fighting amongst themselves for the final two playoff spots. Tonight's Bangers vs Musketeers matchup will likely decide which one of those two teams will definitely be moving on to the postseason, no pressure!

Only 3 games and 9 points to play with. Marauders got the SO win against Miners last night and clinch a playoff spot. Still a tough battle for them to stay in 5th though. A Sabercats victory of any kind in any of the next three games will eliminate Elite from the playoffs. But Elite have bigger problems, playing 13th place Miners who are only 2 points behind them and have outscored them 11-4 so far this season. But if Elite can manage to win any points tonight, Breakouts can do no better than 13th. Any point by the Breakouts puts Tomahawks out for good. Tonight's key matchup: Sabercats (8th, 83 pts) vs Volcano (9th, 81) with 8th place on the line! If Stray Cats stumble against Vandals, winner could jump to 7th! Over in the SHL...... In last night's key matchup, Leopards (7th, 93) continued their winning ways against Dynasty Heroes (3rd, 106) to stay alive, but Bangers (5th, 97) and Musketeers (6th, 93) also won to keep their places. Currently the difference between 6th and 7th is only 2 goals in the differential, so every goal is crucial! Tonight's Key Matchups: Thundering Herd (2nd) at Admirals (1st). An Admirals win and they all but guarantee themselves the SHL League Championship this year. But the Herd have won 2 of 3 so far this season, so expect some fireworks! Another marquee battle will be Musketeers at Dynasty Heroes. Heroes have little to lose, but Musketeers have everything to gain in their quest for the playoffs. In their 3 games this season, 28 goals have been scored by the two teams, so have the fire department on the ready because I expect another barn burner tonight!!!

In the SHL, there is also some excitement brewing even though the top two teams were decided several games back. But there is a real battle raging for the right to try and play up as the Bangers (94 pts, 5th), Musketeer (90), Leopards (90), and Eagles (87) all are trying to stay alive to play against the Dynasty Heroes and Mohawks in the 1st round of the SHL playoffs. Key Matchup Tonight: Dynasty Heroes at Leopards. A potential first round matchup and the Leopards have taken 2 of 3 against the Heroes so far this season.

Just 4 games and 12 points to go. The top 4 teams are now a lock with Protons, Pegasus, Rebels, and Vandals. How they shake up is anyone's guess the way they have been shuffling the top two spots this past week. Although a Vandals loss (vs Breakouts) and Protons win (vs Indians) would make it virtually impossible for Vandals to claim the #1 spot. A Marauders win tonight against the Miners will essentially lock in their playoff berth. As usual, 8th place will likely be decided by the last game of the season with 7th-10th all within 4 points still. Miners upset victory over Rebels last night in a SO moved them up to 12th, ahead of the going backwards Elite who are in 13th due to goals differential. Speaking of relegation, an Elite win (vs Pegasus) AND a Breakouts loss (vs Vandals) would essentially mean Breakouts could finish no higher than 14th. But a win by the Breakouts would all but ensure that the Tomahawks (vs Grizzlies) will be back in the SHL next season. Matchups of the Night: Breakouts at Vandals due to the impact on so many teams But keep an eye on the scores for Volcano at Minutemen and Wolf Pack at Sabercats since both these matches may add some clarity on which teams will be sitting on their thumbs by the end of the weekend.

Feel free to give them to me tonight! I'm 1-6 against you the past two seasons with Elite winning 2-1 in a SO last game. You should consider resting your stars for the playoffs as I would hate to see your starting goalie or star players get hurt!
