A lot of expansion teams added recently. Winnipeg, Vegas and now Seattle, but at least the number is now nice and even at 32. My rooting changes yearly depending on which Finn I hope to get the ring, and right now it's Predators for Rinne. There's no other teams nearby Seattle, so that's good. Vancouver on Canadian side of the border, but other than that, Seattle is a welcome addition I think.
EDIT: Cross off Winnipeg. Wasn't an expansion team.. my memory.. old age and all that crap... forgot to take my meds.

Take your time. Better to have a bug free product to prevent any long term problems occuring. Besides I'm doing remarkably well in the SHL being freshly promoted. Wouldn't mind to see if I could do a one season hop straight to GHL lol. Probably not, but you know... it'll gnaw my bones for a long time afterwards with all the what if's

Welcome back! And yes, you will be able to choose from three different fonts for the name and numbers
And player contracts are being reworked as we speak.
Three different fonts for the jerseys? Are you for real? Okay... I'll just assign my retirement checks to come your way. I'm never freaking leaving this game... too much fluff content to twiddle around with.
And no, that wasn't a sarcastic remark. This is true joy. Go GPHM!!!
Perhaps you've followed the NHL long enough to recognize the late, great HOF center, Stan Mikita, Chicago Blackhawks, who wore #21...
I know the guy, but I didn't know he wore #21. I was 3 years old when Mikita retired. Did you know he died in August of this year? Another legend bites dust, although he was at a respectable age of 78 or something like that.
I can vaguely remember Borje Salming, but he's not really the generation I learned to know from Swedish hockey players. I got to see the heyday of Forsberg, Daniel Alfredsson, Mats Sundin, Markus Naslund and Nicklas Lidstrom. I was always so jealous at Sweden for having such superior players compared to us (Finland). Now the situation is very different, which makes it more interesting when Finland and Sweden play against each other.
By the way, just to get back on topic, please keep the feature where you can change the player number to whatever you want. I know some GM's have said it's a useless feature, but I really like it. I like to give special numbers to my key players... #27 for leading defensemen like Niedermayer.. #8 to well performing snipers a la Ovechkin / Selanne... or #12 like Iginla.. It's just a brilliant feature and I love it.
Offensive tactic is an offensive tactic and a defensive tactic is a defensive tactic. I think you're approaching the subject a little wrong, just like I did when I started. Instead of trying to figure out which defensive tactic offers the best support for offense, look at which defensive tactic counters a given offensive tactic, and go from there. Setting your defenders to support offense, staying at home and help your goalie or play both ways is set line by line on the "team" page and picking "line up" from the sidebar pull down menu titled "action". Each of your line has additional settings you can choose, also from a pull down menu.
My wife is from Kentucky, and I know for a fact you can find excellent burgers there. Much better than the McDonald's, excuse me for the lack of a better word but, crap. Just to be clear here, I have absolutely nothing against a tasty burger.

Thank you for the update.
There seems to be a large number of commenters who want the game to remain free, I can understand your feelings. The problem is that Anders needs money to pay to keep the game up and develop it. If you don't want to have to pay then the only other option that I can see is for you to find ways for Anders to pay for his costs without charging the game players. I can't speak for anyone else but I'm all ears for those ideas.
As a player, you are the consumer of the entertainment offered. Makes sense you pay for it just like paying at McDonald's for you crappy cheeseburger and a bonus fry. Most of the comments are fairly old by now, so let's keep the subject buried. If the dead horse could die twice from all the beating, it would've done so already.
Deadwing to use your terms , depending how lifeless your life is , maybe you wont find the game as entertaining as others do and maybe your 2 bucks wont feel as cheap. This is a very personal thing. 2$ compared to free does make a difference. Some dont have any money to play like some kids who play here and some like me might not want having to pay and lose their team after the update. The game is entertaining but not at the same level for everyone. Some might even find it boring. You know there are some hockey managing games out there where you actually see your players playing the game live. Someone who comes from this type of game might be dissapointed here. There are other free games out there and not everyone want to pay when they can have the possibility to play for free elsewhere. Im not talking about you necessarily but i dont like when i see someone trying to talk for everyone. We dont all think the same way. Otherwise life would be really boring... We always have to think that some are different and not try to speak for everyone and forget those who dont think the same way. I am a bit surprised here that most dont seem to care to lose their actual team after the update. I could be wrong but i did not see much complaints about it. You see for me it is a big dissapointment. I been here for over 30 seasons and i am in GHL and i feel really bad about losing my team i have been building for many seasons. Starting back from scratch is fun for some but not for everyone. It all depends of our experiences and many other things. Some here have won multiple championships season after season. Im sure they dont feel so excited when its the 20th. The guy who wins the first time after a few years of play wont feel the same at all... You see i had the feeling that my team was getting better and that eventually i would win the championship but now with the update i will lose all i been working for and its not cool at all. Never forget that we dont all feel things the same way. It is also not just a matter of money.
Man, that's an impressive wall of text. Like I said, two games was too much for me. I still think $2 is just pocket change. If it's too much— move on. When it comes down to the guy running the game needs to make some money vs. pulling the plug, I'll take the former instead of latter at any given time. Pouring all this heartache on me doesn't really change the facts. Maybe you didn't mean it, but sort of quoting me in the beginning of your wall makes it surely seem like it.
Don't disagree with you but it does incentivize doing faster leagues to get more bang for your buck.
It depends how lifeless your life is. I'm not saying this with any malice, but I did try a normal speed world when I first joined. Two games a day was already way too much for me. I usually missed the other one completely because of work. Slow world is the only good way for me to go. With the prices presented, I feel everybody gets a lot for very little money. My normal MMORPG takes $15 a month, and while these two are not really something to compare, $2 is mere change. Ridiculously cheap for the entertainment this game provides.
Ok guys, I really think Anders and Tobias did an amazing effort here. To be honest, I would probably stopped playing if the original fees would be activated. And I'm playing this game for over 3 years now. But this is a different story, they listened to our feedback and made a very nice compromise. I don't know a lot, if any, game developers who would do this.
I'm sure a lot of you would consider paying $1.99 a month now and rightfully so. And if not, there's a free league as well, so everybody happy. In my opinion there is no need to check for ads so that we can play for free. I think they deserve credits and compensation for their hard work. I always learned that only the sun goes up for nothing, if you know what I mean ;-)
Just let that sink in and maybe wait until we've all tried the new engine and options. I'm sure it will be worth it.
That's ridiculously low price. I would've happily paid 3,50, but this is even better.
Zinyxx, I don't disagree that developers need to get paid for how much time goes into the process but I don't feel as if we can minimalize people's situations when referring to 'penny change'. Could I afford to make that $3.50 happen - I probably could but considering I have other financial priorities, it's just not wise. Besides, I could use that $3.50 penny change to cover ONE of my kid's 'happy meals'.
