We have ample 40 man space, and Diaz is the exact type of quad-A guy we want to fill our AAA depth. Vazquez is okay, and should be a decent depth catcher for the White Sox, but we like what Diaz brings this year.

We had been shopping Moncrief around a decent amount. There had been a few bites but we decided to just pull the trigger on this one with the arb deadline approaching.

Crawford is the high minors pitching depth we were looking to add with potential to contribute at the MLB level. He also will not take up a 40 man spot yet so thats a slight bonus.

Another small trade that we hope works out for both sides

Pretty small minor league deal here. Villar will slot in as a AAA middle infielder (potentially on the bench even), but the real get was Conley who we will love to have helping new AAA manager Gabe Kapler develop a great Bisons clubhouse.

With Inoa, Price and Franco Locked in at 2B and 3B for the next few years Alonso had really no possible upward movement. He has RAKED for the Jays thus far, and we think he will be a pretty great piece. For a quality team like ours, it seems pretty nuts to get our hands on a RECENT #2 overall pick and we welcome Acuna to likely become our best hitting prospect in the system from day 1. We have struggled to fill 1B until Don Winston arrived from Cleveland, and Taylor is an added bonus to add to our system. With Winston unable to hit LHP, Taylor projects as a potential 2019 or 2020 platoon partner with Donny Dingers.

Was a shame to give up Martinez, but with our shallow milb hitting, a 1 for 2 made it worth our while.

Thanks Hodges, we hope Martinez wins the White Sox some games as early as 2018 (especially over those pesky Twins and Royals)
