With Inoa, Price and Franco Locked in at 2B and 3B for the next few years Alonso had really no possible upward movement. He has RAKED for the Jays thus far, and we think he will be a pretty great piece. For a quality team like ours, it seems pretty nuts to get our hands on a RECENT #2 overall pick and we welcome Acuna to likely become our best hitting prospect in the system from day 1. We have struggled to fill 1B until Don Winston arrived from Cleveland, and Taylor is an added bonus to add to our system. With Winston unable to hit LHP, Taylor projects as a potential 2019 or 2020 platoon partner with Donny Dingers.

Was a shame to give up Martinez, but with our shallow milb hitting, a 1 for 2 made it worth our while.

Thanks Hodges, we hope Martinez wins the White Sox some games as early as 2018 (especially over those pesky Twins and Royals)

Reddick is going to have the next 2 weeks to get almost every day at bats in Toronto. He hasn't really proved he deserves them, but LF was our least deep position on our MLB, and so of course our #1 and #2 LF option went and got hurt for weeks.

Reddick is a good clubhouse guy, and with the 100% salary retention we were willing to give up a potential dart prospect in Soto for an actual LF option.

As pointed out, our biggest hole has been 1B/DH. Winston has and will mash against RHP, and while we need Moore to step up against lefties, we can give Julius some time to figure it out in the minors for now.

The Jays probably should've sent down Ferrell (who has options) and kept Kohn up for proper asset management, but Farrell has been dealing for us, and frankly is the better option for a team trying its best to win. Considering what we got Kohn for last week, this transaction netted us a better (though still very fringe) prospect in our scouting departments eyes than we gave up.
