From my point of view, there is something that needs to be fixed since all the other managers can sign players for what they really want. GHL is very competitive and if you wait till day 3-4-5, the best players are gone since they have at least 3 offers on opening day. With the inflated ratings in Lumber, It is now really difficult to make it on GHL the first year let alone needing to sign players for a double or a triple of their worth on the market. Maybe it is normal players are a little reluctant to join a newcomer in the league so maybe you'd need to pay a little more (asking 3M you give 3,5-4M) in the beginning, but such amounts are special to say the least!
Got a man named John Grill on my GHL team in Lumber, he's 42 years old and still going strong with a 97 overall and putting 15-20 pts per year while being on the 3rd or 4th line. He played in GHL is whole career, maybe one for the HOF!
Not a bad idea but imo it would be nice to have a second round also determined by standings, like the highest placed team faces the lowest placed team. That way, if 1st, 5th, 6th and 7th win, 1st will take on 7th and 5th will take 6th. I think it would be more representative of the work done in the season to be among the top 4 teams.
