  1. Congrats canucks357(Goderich Goblins) on your first Howitzer GHL Championship!
  2. AYY Your team came up clutch and won the second game...and now you are one win away from the Finals!!! Good Luck!
  3. I hate my team. LOL. I thought the year would go great since I got some of my key veterans returning, but all it did was just sink me in 16th early on. It took me 10 games to actually get out of 16th only to be stuck in 15th for 5-8 games. I stayed mediocre for the rest of the season then my team finally woke up but it was too late. I made a playoff push and on the last day of games, I beat my opponent 5-2, which I thought would seal my playoff hopes, but no I lost out the #8 seed to another team that had a goal differential of +4 and I had +3. It was quite disappointing and quite upsetting since this was my second time of not making playoffs in franchise history. I just wanted to share my story...BE Prepared no matter how good you think your team is! Good Luck to all teams in playoffs and everyone BE PREPARED, I WILL BE BACK! lol
  4. Well it looks like the age factor of the game has caught up to me. I am trading everyone away except Kadura who is untouchable. In return for these high overall players I have, I need atleast 1 prospect(88+ overall and less than 20 years old) and a draft pick. The asking price is steep because these players can make an impact on your team instantly. Any team that cannot afford that price please message me to find out what type of trade we can negotiate. ALL TEAMS MUST message me before offering, if teams don't I will most likely ignore your offer. Thanks and let those messages come in!
  5. In my experience changing the training hasn't done much if the player is a consistent player that gets injured. Go to a player's individual stats and check how many games he has played in each season and based off of that determine if he gets injured or not. like 5-10 games injured is fine like once every 5 seasons or something, but if it's more frequent then I suggest either trading him while he still has value or having a backup to play his role since he will probably get hurt. One thing that has worked for me is changing the tactics. I used to play on hard and players would get injured left right and center, so I decided to to play around with those tactics for one season. For every 20 games, I switched up the tactics each time(one time "Hard", next "Dirty", and so on). From that correlation I determined player injuries had something to do with those tactics. From that experiment, I learned that more injuries occur in "Dirty" tactic, then "Hard", then "Normal", then "Fair", and then "Safe". My team had 0 injuries when playing in Fair and Safe. Hope this helped.
  6. Say you are selecting #5 and you want the #5 guy, but a team ahead of you has chosen him with their first. Then the computer will shift your first round pick down to the next player that is ranked behind the guy you wanted. So if you have #5 pick, but #5 guy is taken, but the next guy in line is #10(assume you want him), but his bar is set to any pick; the computer will select him with the first round pick, as long as he is higher than the guy that you want to select with your second round pick. This is one of the reasons, I personally automatically shortlist the players I want ahead of me so I don't miss out on them if a team decides to take someone else. This ensure I don't miss out on a valuable prospect and if they do get chose, I will still have my pick in the first round. Hopefully that clears things up.
  7. well i got destroyed in playoffs
  8. So Draft preferences help you to order your picks and prospects you want. So basically if you have the first overall pick, if the draft preferences are not selected, the computer will automatically take your #1 pick, but if you do have a preference, select the player you want and then go horizontally across to a drop down bar which is set to any pick. Change that to one of the drop down options, which will be "first round pick", "second round pick", or "third round pick". This ensures that the prospect you want will be chose n with the right pick. But also remember to set draft preferences to "use shortlist over rank", so the computer chooses from the players you want instead of the ranked ones in the draft. Hopefully that helped.
  9. Please don't destroy me. lol. Good Luck the rest of the way and into the playoffs!
  10. There will always be that tough decision between going for the cup or staying low enough to get a top 5 pick. Since Howitzer is a fast paced world, I would risk dropping spots to gain a better prospect, but this year's draft is pretty disappointing to tank for. I would actually try to win in the playoffs so that your team can gain some reputation and so that players get used to playing in playoffs. Anyways Good Luck on the rest of the season, and possibly the playoffs if you choose to go for it!
  11. It has worked for me, people have read this post and have been contacting me on offers for those players. The right one just hasn't come yet. im still waiting
  12. In my experience, playing in the playoffs will give you more manager and team reputation which in turn will let you get high rated players for a cheaper price. Depending on the player, they can either grow a lot or stay stationary. I once had some guys jump from a 88 to a 90-91, but that was also the year I won the cup. Other years, they usually grow 1 overall or stay stationary. the pros of making the playoffs is gaining reputation and maybe a possible overall jump for some players. The cons of making the playoffs is that if you aren't a top team, you wont get every far and you lose a potential top 5 pick as you mentioned, but also there is the lack of fulfillment of not making the playoffs(wheather its exiting early or not making them at all). If the draft class is decent enough I would risk going into the playoffs, but since this years is a bit weaker than previous years, I would suggest playing younger players so they can "get used to" the big club and vs big league teams.
  13. I am willing to trade my goaltender Sami Patton. He is 22 years old and 89 overall. In return i'm looking to get a good prospect goalie that is 87+ overall or a veteran goalie(27-33) that is 92+ overall.
  14. Yeah that sounds like a great idea Gator...I missed out on soo many good picks because I thought since I will be in the playoffs it wont be good and traded them away. But they turned out to be top 10 picks which were very good in that specific draft. Seeing these odds and getting used to these odds can help me try and predict if i should trade picks or not.
  15. Hey, just saw this post. I'm Jack, and I am the manager of the Palm Harbor Legends. I have been in game world Howitzer since its BETA days. I really enjoy how the game has evovled and meeting the new managers is great; in the beginning no other manages talked to each other a lot, but with new and great managers like Wick(New Castle, GHL) and Gator(Unity, GHL), and Jusu(Stony,GHL) the in game communication has improved and has been amazing....
