...and over in th other part of the SHL (the one we don't mention...hisss!!!)

'"Tonight's matchup showcases two deadbeat teams trying to pump up their home crowds by winning a meaningless game. In fact, as the 14th place Fair play Angels host the 9th place Blakely Black Flag; both GMs have jointly made a pact to sell all beers for $.50 and give away free nachos!"

"Ted Mundy, you're absolutely right! These teams are going to be a complete bore to watch. Fair Play is stuck in 14th place and facing relegation playoffs while Blakely has just put up their best season in the SHL...and at 9th, that's not saying much!"

"Haha, that's our guest, Junior announcer from the overseas Clapper league, Ant Pickle. Not only is he a great on the ice but his name just screams, 'I'm a big tool'! They are really trying to pull out all the stops tonight. We even get to see a special performance by Destiny's Mild, the Destiny's Child cover band made up of 50+ year old men singing tunes in a Mariachi style - I'm so pumped! How about you, little Dill?"

"...ohp, looks like small Gerkin is locked into an intense Fortnite battle at the moment - you go get em'!"

The end of the season is not looking too bright for Breakouts. 3 games remaining, 5 points seperating us from certain relegation and I'm against the 1st and 2nd teams in GHL (Protons and Rebels). Here's to hoping we get the win and make sure we have a shot at staying in GHL.

This thread is amazing on multiple levels!  Keep the updates coming.

The Leppards are in a tough spot as we battle it out with our long time rival the Musketeers for the 6th and final playoff spot, but we will have to do it without our #1 goalie as he was injured yesterday making a save and our backup hasn't had many good performances this season.  A few weeks ago we had decided to start playing for next season by trying a few different line setups, traded our draft picks and top scorer, and benching our older (best) defenseman to get some ice time for younger players... which explains why I am currently on a winning streak

Shout out to BHL & IHL as there are some tight races for promotion in those leagues as well.

Good luck to all!

The more exciting part is Musketeers and Leopards being tied on points in SHL.... yet again near the end of the season.  Before this last round we had the same 4 teams to play as well.  For those who don't know our history 2 seasons ago we went up to SHL together tied on points and him winning the league by GD.... last season we tied again with Leopards getting home ice advantage for our playoff series by goal differential then winning the series.  I am looking to get ahead of him this season!

This is just becoming pure insanity.  We now have the same amounts of points and are separated by 1 goal differential.  Can we finish with the same amount of points 3 seasons in a row? :o

Two teams who play totally different tactics, totally different strategies, different types of players... the list goes on.

But let's add to it.  We also recently discovered that we are the same age, have pretty much the same exact profession, and our personal lives are pretty much the same with the exception of a 1 kid differential (3 vs. 4) to go along with our 1 goal differential.

Yes, insane.

Ok.... and our race for the playoffs just got crazier!  We are 1 pt behind Badgers now and his final games are vs me on the road tomorrow then you at home for the final game of the season.  This has become a pretty intense race for the last 2 playoff spots all of a sudden!

2 to go!

With last night's victory, Minutemen have secured their playoff goals. Also, Miners beat Elite 2-1 with a 3rd period SHG (that pretty much sums up my season) to grab the cheap champagne slot of 12th. They control their own destiny now.

Straycats and Wolf Pack both lost, so it's a dead heat for the final two spots.

No real key matchups tonight as the schedule tends to favor the top half teams, so anything can happen.

Over in the SHL, Admirals locked up 1st place by holding Thundering Herd to only two goals.

The Bangers loss and wins by Musketeers and Leopards means those three teams are fighting amongst themselves for the final two playoff spots.

Tonight's Bangers vs Musketeers matchup will likely decide which one of those two teams will definitely be moving on to the postseason, no pressure!

Depending on some game results tonight, the last playoff spot(s) may be decided by the last game of the season between Cats and Grizzlies, with the possibility of a spot being on the line for both teams.

Another magic number: Of all the current GHL teams (that have been in playoffs in the past), Stray Cats hold the enviable record of the longest playoff drought, with the latest (and only) appearance in S7.

I beg to differ! The match between Breakouts and Grizzlies could seal the results for both teams. If the Breakouts win, they won't get relegated automatically and Grizzlies wont be able to make it in to the playoffs no matter how the last game of the season goes.

Here we are the last game of the season and as usual, lots to still be decided.

With the top four teams in GHL so close, any of the top four could still win the regular season crown. That's just crazy.

As usual, the final spot will be decided tonight as well. Stray Cats, Wolf Pack, and Sabercats are all within one point. Lower down, last night's Elite squeaky win past Volcano has Volcano, Miners, and Elite separated by just two points trying to avoid the dreaded relegation playoffs.

Two key matchup tonight.
Wolf Pack vs Elite since both teams are fighting for their survival.
Also, if Vandals can beat the Indians, they will win the league title.

The SHL is just as wild since Bangers beat Musketeers last night, now Bangers (5th) locked their postseason berth and put the next to last nail in the Musketeers' dreams. Musketeers can still get in, but now need to hope Bangers thump Leopards since the Musketeers can only get in if they win AND make up the three goal difference with Leopards.

Key Matchup:
Bangers vs Leopards!
