Seattle sends...

- SP Nathan Eovaldi

- MR Robert Paullus

- OF Xavier Macklin

New York sends...

- SP Kyle Cody

- OF Mariano Gonzalez

- OF Elliot Jenkins (AAA - Scranton WB)

- OF Hideaki Hayashi (A - Charleston)

- 3B Royce Lewis (R - Tampa 1)

- SP Keegan Thompson (R - Tampa 2)

It was painful (once again) dealing the 2-time* AL Cy Young winner Nathan Eovaldi, but we really covet the skill set of youngster Kyle Cody, who is the prized centerpiece of the deal from the Mariners perspective. Cody reminds us of Eovaldi 4 years ago, when we plucked him from the Dodgers as a 24-year old stud with all the tools but struggled in 3 major league seasons (which we feel he was rushed to the bigs and he wasn't ready). Eovaldi flourished in Seattle behind Felix and Danny Hultzen, and we hope Cody will follow the same path to rotation ace in the coming years.

We also include elite relief pitcher Robert Paullus, which was difficult as he was heading into the 2019 season as the Mariners closer, but wasn't in the long-term plans, so when Rhett asked about him to make this deal complete, we had to include him.

Also coming over from the Yankees is CF Mariano Gonzalez, who looks to solidify the position for the Mariners for a long time (or we'll ruin him like we ruin every other CF), as well as 4 prospects who aren't necessarily of the elite type, but could definitely be big league contributors (or more trade bait) down the road. Thanks to Rhett for the extensive and creative talks after the original deal was blocked by Felix, and good luck with your new Cy Young winner and closer in 2019!

*2-time Cy Young, as Felix had given Nathan his 2017 award as the rightful winner.

Yankees confirm trade. Anytime you can trade for a CY Young winner still in his prime you have to take it! Cody is a young stud but him being dominant has yet to be determined in the show and Paullus is a nice polished arm to anchor our bullpen! Thanks so much to Justin and the Mariners for the long drawn out negotiations. Was a lot of fun!

PROCESSED! (Done in two parts in-game as only 5 players can be dealt in a trade)
