Thank you for posting your response ncik. I reviewed the transaction logs and saw that they all signed with the computer-run leagues. After some thought I really like this dynamic. It adds realism and forces me to re-evaluate my player acquisition strategy. Also, thank you for the advice as I wasn't aware of the confidence after day 40.

In Howitzer there are 11 total free agent Centers over 70, and all are 31-41 years old. The highest rated free agent center that is under 30 years old is a 25 year old with a total score of 56! There are ZERO free agents over 87, and only one goalie FA over 66. And now I cannot sign anyone over 67 (I am in the IHL with zero starters under 67, most are in the 70-74 range). Any idea what is going on? Is this a bug, or am I missing something? And yes, I have unchecked the "Filter out unrealistic targets" box.

I appreciate your opinion, but I literally feel the exact opposite. But that is a debate for another day. If the league is European it should have a European style and rules. If it is NA, it should have NA style and rules. I enjoy the fighting and scrums and hard checking, and I want to play in a NA world that mirrors that style.

Fights in general are rare, maybe once every three games? And it is very rare, if at all, that my actual enforcer(s) fight(s). I would love to see more fights, especially in NA style leagues, and would highly prefer to see the enforcers doing the majority of the fighting. Maybe long term have a player based status for the best fighters and/or statistics. When we move to coaches and trainers, having a fighting or toughness trainer would be great too. Algorithms to include the impact of renowned enforcers on teams would be good (think the impact that Marty McSorley and Dave Semenko had on Gretzy's career, or how the lack of enforcer has hurt Crosby's career).

I think that a 99 ranking for any attribute should be an incredibly rare occurrence. There should maybe be 0-3 players total with a 99 skating attribute. And one of those 0-3 may not be a great player, may have 60-70s in the rest of their skills, just be incredibly great at that one thing.

An odd trend that I noticed as I was promoted are the huge number of players in the Gold league with no bad qualities. There is one team with six defensemen that have no skills under 90. In my opinion, there isn't a single player in history that was in the top 10% of the league in shooting, skating, passing, defense, spirit, physical, and all of the other various attributes. Wayne Gretzky, the best player of all time, certainly wasn't a 90% physical. Maybe 60%? He wasn't a 90+% spirit either, and probably not defense. I can't think of any players that would be all 90s (and especially all 95s+), but certainly not six at one position on one team. One of the wonderful things about having players with strengths and weaknesses is searching for the traits that you desire in a team and building a team with those traits. I can't build the broad street bullies if all players are equal. Does that make sense?
