  1. On a related note, has anyone noticed a drop in the regression of older players? It seems like all the 35-41 year-olds are superstars still, like Father Time forgot their generation exists. It's kind of frustrating, honestly.
  2. I got the same message for a goalie I waived, but in the end he got waived without a problem. It might just be an issue with the text in the notification?
  3. Overall it seems like the injuries are back to normal, at least. I just wish they didn't happen to me!
  4. Anyone else having some injury issues? I'm off to a good start in the GHL, but my top two point-getters are both out for 8 and 9 days. And the player I called up to replace the first guy is hurt now, too.
  5. Yes yes yes, absolutely! I think 3 seasons of draft picks would be even better, but more than that starts to get outrageous. It definitely would open up a new trade dynamic and more risk/reward.
  6. I like this idea, but I feel like the only reason to do this would be for friendly reasons, With affiliate teams, you don't really need to send your prospects to the lower league to another manager in order for them to get experience. The lending team wouldn't really get any extra benefit, but the person receiving the prospect would get a huge advantage relative to the rest of their league. I like the idea, just because I think it would be a fun and relatively easy way to get more communication between managers and actually build a community, I'm just worried it would become more political that I would like.
  7. It's been done before, yes. But if you see it, just report it because it's technically cheating. Thanks for the heads up!
  8. I like it! That would be really helpful in scouting too.
  9. Training can be a factor, but I've seen enough people complaining about excessive injuries to people with perfect fitness, especially since the last major update. My brother had his entire top line out for an extended amount of time even though they were all fit. That's just not fair all the time, even if it is unlucky. Besides, no one really likes injuries. The game would be more fun if IR could mitigate the effects of some of the more annoying ones. I think it would be fine even if the IR minimum stay was 15 days. The point of IR would be to reduce the effect of unlucky long-term injuries, not a place to put every player out day-to-day with a fatigue injury. It would just eliminate a major headache aspect of this game and make it more fun, without giving each manager an easy out for every injury (which would be just as bad as no IR anyway).
  10. I think a 6 or 7 day minimum IR is almost essential. Yes, you can leave a lot of space in your budget for call-ups in case of injury, but injuries are kind of random events that a manager has no control over. It's not really fair in my opinion if a player has 5 or 6 guys out due to injury and can't field a competitive lineup because they didn't leave 10% of their cap free just in case, when another team in the league has no injuries and is just coasting. It would go a long way to make the game more fair, allow more control for the managers, reduce some of the effects on your lineup due to random injury, all while adding a new element to the game to challenge managers.
  11. Sometimes I wish my defenders had as many points as penalty minutes...I feel your pain.
  12. Just to throw in my two cents that no one asked for: 1. Everybody needs to calm down. This is a forum for an online game, not a political protest. There are plenty of ways to bring up an issue you have with the game without personally attacking people. And there are plenty of ways to defend yourself without getting into essentially a yelling match. I haven't ever seen this from the community, and I'm disappointed. Let's keep it constructive. 2. CPU trading, in my opinion, is pretty balanced now. It's almost impossible to rip off the computer, and you truly have to give up something good to get something from one of those teams. If it's not unbalanced in the CPU's favor, the trade is not going through. Besides, you should have seen it a few seasons ago when you could give up 3 old guys who aren't very good with orange trade value and get a top prospect. It's come a long way and I think it's a good part of the game. 3. The game is still being developed, and it's certainly not flawless. But it changes and grows and gets better all the time, so bring up your complaints in a way that makes people want to listen, discuss, and make those changes, and it'll improve more quickly. 4. This isn't meant to be condescending, I just like the game too much to see people rip it to shreds. 5. Now I feel like a parent. Great.
  13. Good points on both sides, but personally, I like the little extra complexity the 3rd round picks offer. And it's always rewarding if you find a 'gem' with that pick. Yes, most of them never pan out, but I feel like server strain may not actually be a massive problem, and very few NHL draft picks pan out in real life, too. That's part of the fun. I like the discussion, though, it's a good suggestion. I just personally like it enough to keep the 3rd rounders.
  14. First game of the season didn't go so well here, so obviously it's time to blow up my whole game plan, haha. I faced a very good Edgewood team, so I'm not worried. The goal this year: win the championship! (we came within a goal of winning it all last year, which was a pleasant surprise) Best of luck to everyone! (Also, the NHL preseason starts for the Blue Jackets tonight, so today is like a holiday! )
  15. Really good idea. I've been hoping for a filter overhaul for a little while. It really applies to lower leagues, especially.
